| 116:1 | I love Jehovah because He hears my voice, my prayers. |
| 116:2 | Because He has bowed His ear to me, I will also call in my days. |
| 116:3 | The cords of death hemmed me in; and the pains of Sheol found me; I find distress and sorrow; |
| 116:4 | then I call on the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech You, deliver my soul! |
| 116:5 | Jehovah is gracious and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. |

Green's Literal Translation (Literal Translation of the Holy Bible - LITV), is a translation of the Bible by Jay P. Green, Sr., first published in 1985. The LITV takes a literal, formal equivalence approach to translation. The Masoretic Text is used as the Hebrew basis for the Old Testament, and the Textus Receptus is used as the Greek basis for the New Testament.
