1 Chronicles Chapter: 6

6:1The sonnes of Leui: Gerson, Cahath and Merari.
6:2The sonnes of Cahat: Amram, Izahar, Hebron and Oziel.
6:3The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses & Miriam. The sonnes of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
6:4Eleazar begat Phinehes. Phinehes begat Abisue.
6:5Abisue begat Boki. Boki begat Ozi
6:6Ozi begat Zarahiah. Zarahiah begat Meraioth.
6:7Meraioth begat Amariah. Amariah begat Ahitob.
6:8Ahitob begat Zadoc. Zadoc begat Ahimaaz.
6:9Ahimaaz begat Azariah. Azariah begat Iohanan.

6:16The sonnes of Leui now are these: Gersom, Cahath and Merari.
6:17And these be the names of the sonnes of Gersom: Lobni and Semei.
6:18And the sonnes of Cahath were Amram, Izahar, Hebron and Oziel,
6:19the sonnes of Merari: Moholi and Musi These are the kynreddes of Leui concernynge theyr auncient fathers.
6:20The sonnes of Gersom was Lobni, and hys sonne Iahath, & his sonne Zamah,
6:21and hys sonne Ioah, and his sonne Ado, and his sonne Zerah, and hys sonne Ieathrai.
6:22The sonnes of Cahath: Aminadab and his sonne Careh, and hys sonne Assir,
6:23and hys sonne Elcanah, and hys sonne Abiasaph, and hys sonne Asir,
6:24and Thahath was his sonne, and Vriel hys sonne, and Oziah hys sonne, and Saul was hys sonne.
6:25The sonnes of Elcanah: Amasai, Ahimot
6:26and Elcanah. The sonnes of Elcanah, Zophai whose sonne was Nahath,
6:27and hys sonne Eliab and Ieroham hys sonne, and Elcanah hys sonne,
6:28and Samuel the sonne of hym. And the sonnes of Samuel: the eldest Vasni and then Abiah.
6:29The sonnes of Merari: Moholi, and his sonne Lobni, and his sonne Semei, and hys sonne Oza
6:30and hys sonne Samaa, and hys sonne Hagiah, and hys sonne Asaiah.
6:31These be they whyche Dauid set for to singe in the house of the Lorde, after that the Arcke had reste.
6:32And they mynystred before the dwellinge place of the tabernacle of wytnesse wyth syngynge, vntyll Salomon had buylt the temple of the Lorde in Ierusalem. And then they wayted on theyr offyces accordinge to the order of them.
6:33These are they that wayted with theyr children of the sonnes of Cahath: Heman a synger, whyche was the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Samuel.
6:34The sonne of Elcanah, the sonne of Ieroham, the sonne of Eliel: the sonne of Thoah,
6:35the sonne of Zuph, the sonne of Elcanah, the sonne of Mahath, the sonne of Amasai,
6:36the sonne of Elcanah, the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Asariah, the sonne of Zophoniah:
6:37the sonne of Thahath, the sonne of Asir, the sonne of Abiasaph the sonne of Coreh:
6:38the sonne of Izahar, the sonne of Cahath: the sonne of Leui the sonne of Israel.
6:39And his brother Asaph stode on his ryght hande, whych was the sonne of Barachiah, the sonne of Samaa:
6:40the sonne of Michael the sonne of Baasaiah, the sonne of Melchiah,
6:41the sonne of Athani, the sonne of Zarah, the sonne of Adaiach:
6:42the sonne of Ethan, the sonne of Zamah, the sonne of Semei:
6:43the sonne of Iahath, the sonne of Gersom, the sonne of Leui.
6:44And theyr brethren the sonnes of Merari stode on the lefte hand: Ethan the sonne of Chusi, the sonne of Abdi, the sonne of Maloch:
6:45the sonne of Hasabiah, the sonne of Amaziah, the sonne of Helkiah:
6:46the sonne of Amazi, the sonne of Boni, the sonne of Somer:
6:47the sonne of Moholi, the sonne of Musi, the sonne of Merari, the sonne of Leui.
6:48Their brethren the Leuites were apoynted vnto all maner seruyce of the tabernacle of the house of God.
6:49But Aaron & his sonnes burnt vpon the aulter of burntofferynges and on the aulter of incense, and were apoynted vnto all that was to do in the place moste holy, and to make an attonement for Israel in all poyntes accordinge as Moses the seruaunt of God had commaunded.
6:50These are the sonnes of Aaron: Eleazar, whose sonnes was Phinehes, and hys sonne Abisue:
6:51and his sonne Boki, and the sonne of hym Ozi, and hys sonne Zarahia,
6:52and the sonne of hym Meraioth, and his sonne Amariah, and the sonne of hym Ahitob:
6:53and Zadoc hys sonne, and Ahimaaz his sonne.
6:54And these are the dwellinge places of them in theyr townes and costes: I meane of the sonnes of Aaron of the kynredde of the Caathites, for so theyr lot fell.
6:55They gaue vnto them Hebron in the lande of Iuda wyth the Suburbes roundeaboute yt.
6:56But the countreye and vyllages pertaynynge therto, they gaue to Caleb the sonne of Iephoneh.
6:57And to the sonnes of Aaron they gaue the Franchesed cytyes, Hebron and Lobnach, wyth theyr Suburbes: and Iathyr and Ethemoa wyth theyr Suburbes:
6:58and Hilen wyth her Suburbes, and Dabir wyth her Suburbes:
6:59and Asan wyth her Suburbes, and Bethsemes wyth her Suburbes.
6:60And out of the trybe of Beniamin Gabee and her Suburbes, Alemath wyth her Suburbes, Anathoth wyth her Suburbes: so that al theyr cytyes amonge theyr kynreddes were .xiij.
6:61And vnto the sonnes of Cahath the remnant of the kynne of the trybe, were cytyes geuen out of the halfe trybe of Manasseh by lote, ten cytyes.
6:62And vnto the sonnes of Gersom amonge theyr kynreddes were geuen out of the trybe of Isacar & out of the trybe of Asser and out of the trybe of Nephthali: and out of the trybe of Manasseh in Basan, thyrtene cytyes.
6:63And vnto the sonnes of Merari were geuen by lot amonge theyr kynreddes out of the trybe of Ruben, and out of the trybe of Gad, and out of the trybe of Zabulon, twelue cytyes.
6:64And the chyldren of Israel gaue the Leuites suche cytyes wyth theyr Suburbes,
6:65& that by Lot, out of the trybe of the chyldren of Iuda and of the trybe of Symeon and out of the trybe of the chyldren of Beniamin: euen the sayde cyties that are rehersed by name.
6:66And concernynge the sonnes of Cahath, the cytyes of theyr coste were of the trybe of Ephraim.
6:67In whych trybe they gaue vnto them the cytyes of Refuge: Sichem in mount Ephraim wyth her Suburbes, and Gaser wyth her Suburbes,
6:68Iecmaam wyth her Suburbes, Bethhoron wyth her Suburbes,
6:69Aialon wyth her Suburbes, and Geth Remon wyth her Suburbes.
6:70And out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Aner wyth her Suburbes, and Baalam wyth her Suburbes amonge the kyndredes of the rennant of the sonnes of Cahath.
6:71And vnto the sonnes of Gerson were geuen out of the kyndrede of the halfe trybe of Manasseh: Golon in Basan wyth her Suburbes and Astharoth wyth her Suburbes.
6:72And out of the trybe of Isacar, Kedes wyth her Suburbes, Daberath wyth her Suburbes,
6:73Ramoth with her Suburbes and Anem with her Suburbes.
6:74And out of Asser, Masal wyth her Suburbes, Abdon with her Suburbes,
6:75Hukok with her Suburbes & Rohob wyth her Suburbes.
6:76And out of the trybe of Nephthali, Kedes in Galilea wyth her Suburbes, Hamon wyth her Suburbes, and Kariathiarim wyth her Suburbes.
6:77And vnto the rest of the children of Merari were geuen out of the trybe of Zabulon, Remono with her suburbes & Thabor wyth her suburbes.
6:78And on the other syde Iordan by Iericho euen on the east syde of Iordan were geuen them out of the trybe of Ruben: Bozor in the wildernesse wyth her suburbes Iahezah with her suburbes,
6:79Rademoth with her suburbes. Mephath with her suburbes.
6:80And out of the trybe of Gad, Ramoth in Gallad wyth her suburbes, Mahanaim with her suburbes,
6:81Hesebon wyth her suburbes, and Iezer wyth her suburbes.

Matthew's Bible 1537

The Matthew Bible, also known as Matthew's Version, was first published in 1537 by John Rogers, under the pseudonym "Thomas Matthew". It combined the New Testament of William Tyndale, and as much of the Old Testament as he had been able to translate before being captured and put to death, with the translations of Myles Coverdale as to the balance of the Old Testament and the Apocrypha, except the Apocryphal Prayer of Manasses. It is thus a vital link in the main sequence of English Bible translations.
