| 26:1 | As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not right for a fool. |
| 26:2 | As the wandering bird, as the swallow in its flying, so the causeless curse shall never come. |
| 26:3 | A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools. |
| 26:4 | Answer not a fool according to his foolishness, lest you become like him, even you. |

Green's Literal Translation (Literal Translation of the Holy Bible - LITV), is a translation of the Bible by Jay P. Green, Sr., first published in 1985. The LITV takes a literal, formal equivalence approach to translation. The Masoretic Text is used as the Hebrew basis for the Old Testament, and the Textus Receptus is used as the Greek basis for the New Testament.
