Textus Receptus Bibles

Jay P. Green's Literal Translation 1993

9:1Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out her seven pillars;
9:2she has slaughtered her slaughter; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
9:3She has sent out her maidens; she cries on the highest places of the city;
9:4The simple one, turn in here; and to one lacking heart, she says to him:
9:5Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine I have mixed.
9:6Forsake the foolish, and live, and go in the way of understanding.
9:7He who reproves a scorner gets shame to himself; and he who rebukes a wicked man gets his own blot.
9:8Do not reprove a scorner, that he not hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9:9Give to a wise one, and he will be more wise; teach a just one, and he will increase in learning.
9:10The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy Ones is understanding.
9:11For by me your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
9:12If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself, but if you scorn, you alone shall bear it .
9:13A foolish woman is loud; she is thoughtlessness, and she knows not what.
9:14And she sits at the door of her house, in a seat in the high places of the city,
9:15to call those who pass by, who are going straight on their ways:
9:16The simple one, let him turn in here; and to the one lacking heart, she says to him:
9:17Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
9:18But he does not know that the departed spirits are there; her guests are in the depths of hell.

Green's Literal Translation 1993

Green's Literal Translation (Literal Translation of the Holy Bible - LITV), is a translation of the Bible by Jay P. Green, Sr., first published in 1985. The LITV takes a literal, formal equivalence approach to translation. The Masoretic Text is used as the Hebrew basis for the Old Testament, and the Textus Receptus is used as the Greek basis for the New Testament.
