King James Bible 2016

New Testament

6:1After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.
6:2Then a large crowd followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He performed on those who were diseased.
6:3And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.
6:4Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.
6:5Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a large crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"
6:6But this He said to test him, because He Himself knew what He would do.
6:7Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little."
6:8One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,
6:9"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?"
6:10Then Jesus said, "Make the men sit down." Now there was a lot of grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
6:11And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
6:12So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost."
6:13Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.
6:14Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, "This is truly that Prophet who is to come into the world."
6:15Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.
6:16Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,
6:17got into a boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
6:18Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing.
6:19So when they had rowed about twenty or thirty stadiums they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
6:20But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."
6:21Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
6:22On the following day, when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had gone away alone;
6:23(however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks)
6:24therefore when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
6:25And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?"
6:26Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled."
6:27Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."
6:28Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
6:29Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent."
6:30Therefore they said to Him, "What sign shall You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work shall You do?
6:31Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"
6:32Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven."
6:33Because, the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
6:34Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always."
6:35And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never hunger, and he who believes on Me will never thirst."
6:36But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe."
6:37All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out."
6:38Because, I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me."
6:39And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."
6:40And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
6:41The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven."
6:42And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I came down from heaven'?"
6:43Jesus therefore responded and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves."
6:44No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."
6:45It is written in the prophets, 'And they will all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me."
6:46Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father."
6:47Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes on Me has everlasting life."
6:48I am the bread of life."
6:49Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead."
6:50This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die."
6:51I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
6:52The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"
6:53Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you."
6:54Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
6:55Because My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed."
6:56He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him."
6:57As the living Father has sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me will live because of Me."
6:58This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."
6:59These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.
6:60Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can understand it?"
6:61When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?"
6:62What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend up where He was before?"
6:63It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life."
6:64But there are some of you who do not believe." Because, Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.
6:65And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."
6:66From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no longer.
6:67Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"
6:68But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
6:69Also we believe and are convinced that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
6:70Jesus replied to them, "Did I not choose you twelve, and one of you is a devil?"
6:71He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, because it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

King James Bible 2016

Unlike most other modern versions, this Bible's text is based upon the same Hebrew Masoretic Text, and Greek Textus Receptus, of the King James Version of 1611.

In non Textus Receptus versions, the issue of having the best underlying manuscripts, is often overshadowed by the massive amount of omissions in the text. Because the KJV 2016 is not dealing with issues of omission and addition, the focus has been upon definition, and the KJV translators choices have been used as the benchmark.

One issue not often majored upon in the bible version debate is simply the way Greek words are defined. Many times, the NKJV leans upon the definition choices of modern versions as well as defaulting to Vines and Strong's definitions, which are almost always favorable to the Revised Version. In other words, one may have a correct text to translate from, but use erroneous modern version/modern dictionary definitions which change or distort the meaning of the words. Jay Green was accused of having a good TR bible but with "Alexandrian readings".

The KJV 2016 Edition rejects such erroneous modern definitions and restores the distinctness of historical KJV readings. The NKJV also tended to gravitate toward KJV marginal notes, which are in truth, rejected readings, and also toward Geneva Bible definitions, which the KJV had already cleared up.
