10:1 | Britheren, the wille of myn herte and mi biseching is maad to God for hem in to helthe. |
10:2 | But Y bere witnessyng to hem, that thei han loue of God, but not aftir kunnyng. |
10:3 | For thei vnknowynge Goddis riytwisnesse, and sekynge to make stidefast her owne riytfulnesse, ben not suget to the riytwisnesse of God. |
10:4 | For the ende of the lawe is Crist, to riytwisnesse to ech man that bileueth. |
10:5 | For Moises wroot, For the man that schal do riytwisnesse that is of the lawe, schal lyue in it. |
10:6 | But the riytwisnesse that is of bileue, seith thus, Seie thou not in thin herte, Who schal stie in to heuene? that is to seie, to lede doun Crist; |
10:7 | or who schal go doun in to helle? that is, to ayenclepe Crist fro deth. |
10:8 | But what seith the scripture? The word is nyy in thi mouth, and in thin herte; this is the word of bileue, which we prechen. |
10:9 | That if thou knoulechist in thi mouth the Lord Jhesu Crist, and bileuest in thin herte, that God reiside hym fro deth, thou schalt be saaf. |
10:10 | For bi herte me bileueth to riytwisnesse, but bi mouth knowleching is maad to helthe. |
10:11 | For whi the scripture seith, Ech that bileueth in hym, schal not be confoundid. |
10:12 | And ther is no distinccioun of Jew and of Greke; for the same Lord of alle is riche in alle, that inwardli clepen hym. |
10:13 | For ech man `who euere schal inwardli clepe the name of the Lord, schal be saaf. |
10:14 | Hou thanne schulen thei inwardli clepe hym, in to whom thei han not bileued? or hou schulen thei bileue to hym, whom thei han not herd? Hou schulen thei here, with outen a prechour? |
10:15 | and hou schulen thei preche, but thei be sent? As it is writun, Hou faire ben the feet of hem that prechen pees, of hem that prechen good thingis. |
10:16 | But not alle men obeien to the gospel. For Ysaie seith, Lord, who bileuede to oure heryng? |
10:17 | Therfor feith is of heryng, but heryng bi the word of Crist. |
10:18 | But Y seie, Whether thei herden not? Yhis, sothely the word of hem wente out in to al the erthe, and her wordis in to the endis of the world. |
10:19 | But Y seie, Whether Israel knewe not? First Moyses seith, Y schal lede you to enuye, that ye ben no folc; that ye ben an vnwise folc, Y schal sende you in to wraththe. |
10:20 | And Ysaie is bold, and seith, Y am foundun of men that seken me not; opynli Y apperide to hem, that axiden not me. |
10:21 | But to Israel he seith, Al dai Y streiyte out myn hondis to a puple that bileuede not, but ayen seide me. |
10:1 | Brethren my hertes desyre and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. |
10:2 | For I beare them recorde that they have a fervet mynde to God warde but not accordinge to knowledge. |
10:3 | For they are ignoraut of the rightewesnes which is alowed before God and goo about to stablisshe their awne rightewesnes and therfore are not obedient vnto the rightewesnes which is of valew before God. |
10:4 | For Christ is the ende of the lawe to iustifie all that beleve. |
10:5 | Moses describeth the rightewesnes which cometh of ye lawe howe that the man which doth the thinges of the lawe shall lyve therin. |
10:6 | But ye rightewesnes which cometh of fayth speaketh on this wyse. Saye not in thyne hert who shall ascende into heven? (that is nothinge els then to fetch Christ doune) |
10:7 | Other who shall descende into the depe? (that is nothinge els but to fetch vp Christ from deeth) |
10:8 | But what sayth the scripture? The worde is nye the even in thy mouth and in thyn herte. This worde is the worde of fayth which we preache. |
10:9 | For yf thou shalt knowledge wt thy mouth that Iesus is the lorde and shalt beleve with thyn hert that God raysed him up from deeth thou shalt be safe. |
10:10 | For the belefe of the hert iustifieth: and to knowledge with the mouth maketh a man safe. |
10:11 | For the scripture sayth: whosoever beleveth on him shall not be ashamed. |
10:12 | Ther is no difference bitwene the Iewe and the gentyll. For one is Lorde of all which is ryche vnto all that call on him. |
10:13 | For whosoever shall call on the name of the lorde shalbe safe. |
10:14 | But how shall they call on him on who they beleved not? how shall they beleve on him of whom they have not herde? how shall they heare with out a preacher? |
10:15 | And how shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written: how beautifull are the fete of them which bringe glad tydynges of peace and bringe glad tydynges of good thinges. |
10:16 | But they have not all obeyed to ye gospell. For Esaias sayth: Lorde who shall beleve oure sayinges? |
10:17 | So then fayth cometh by hearynge and hearynge cometh by the worde of God. |
10:18 | But I axe: have they not herde? No dout their sounde went out into all londes: and their wordes in to the endes of the worlde. |
10:19 | But I demaunde whether Israel dyd knowe or not? Fyrst Moses sayth: I will provoke you for to envy by the that are no people and by a folisshe nacion I will anger you. |
10:20 | Esaias after that is bolde and sayth. I am founde of the that sought me not and have appered to them that axed not after me. |
10:21 | And agaynst Israel he sayth: All daye longe have I stretched forth my hondes vnto a people yt beleveth not but speaketh agaynst me. |
10:1 | Brethren, my hertes desyre, & prayer vnto God for Israel is, that they might be saued. |
10:2 | For I beare them recorde, that they are zelous for Gods cause, but not wt vnderstondinge. |
10:3 | For they knowe not the righteousnes which auayleth before God, and go aboute to manteyne their awne righteousnes: and thus they are not subdued vnto the righteousnes, that is off value before God. |
10:4 | For Christ is the ende of the lawe, vnto righteousnes for euery one yt beleueth. |
10:5 | Moses wryteth of ye righteousnes which commeth of the lawe, that the man which doth ye same, shal lyue therin. |
10:6 | But ye righteousnes which cometh of faith, speaketh on this wyse: Saye not in thine hert: Who wil go vp in to heaue? (that is nothinge els then to fetch Christ downe) |
10:7 | Or who wyl go downe in to ye depe? (that is nothinge els the to fetch vp Christ from the deed.) |
10:8 | But what sayeth the scripture? The worde is nye the, euen in thy mouth and in thine hert. This is ye worde of faith yt we preach. |
10:9 | For yf thou knowlegest Iesus with thy mouth, that he is the LORDE, and beleuest in thine hert, that God hath raysed him vp from the deed, thou shalt be saued. |
10:10 | For yf a man beleue from the hert, he shalbe made righteous: and yf a ma knowlege with the mouth, he shal be saued. |
10:11 | For the scripture sayeth: Who so euer beleueth on him, shal not be confounded. |
10:12 | Here is no difference, nether of the Iewe ner of the Gentyle. For one is LORDE of all, which is riche vnto all yt call vpo him. |
10:13 | For who so euer shal call vpon the name of the LORDE, shalbe saued. |
10:14 | But how shal they call vpo him, on who they beleue not? How shal they beleue on him, of who they haue not herde? How shal they heare without a preacher? |
10:15 | But how shal they preach, excepte they be sent? As it is wrytte: How beutyfull are the fete of the yt preach peace, yt brynge good tidinges? |
10:16 | But they are not all obedient vnto the Gospell. For Esaye sayeth: LORDE, who beleueth oure preachinge? |
10:17 | So the faith cometh by hearynge, but hearinge cometh by the worde of God. |
10:18 | But I saye: Haue they not herde? No doute their sounde wete out into all londes, and their wordes in to the endes of the worlde. |
10:19 | But I saye: Hath not Israel knowne? First, Moses sayeth: I wil prouoke you to enuye, by them that are not my people: & by a foolish nacion wyl I anger you. |
10:20 | Esaye after him is bolde, aud sayeth: I am founde of them, that sought me not: & haue appeared vnto them, that axed not after me. |
10:21 | But vnto Israel he sayeth: All the daye loge haue I stretched forth my handes vnto a people yt beleueth not, but speaketh agaynst me. |
