11:1Therfor Y seie, Whether God hath put awei his puple? God forbede. For Y am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the lynage of Beniamyn.
11:2God hath not put awei his puple, which he bifor knew. Whether ye witen not, what the scripture seith in Elie? Hou he preieth God ayens Israel,
11:3Lord, thei han slayn thi prophetis, thei han vndurdoluun thin auteris, and Y am lefte aloone, and thei seken my lijf.
11:4But what seith Goddis answere to hym? Y haue left to me seuene thousyndes of men, that han not bowid her knees bifore Baal.
11:5So therfor also in this tyme, the relifs ben maad saaf, bi the chesyng of the grace of God.
11:6And if it be bi the grace of God, it is not now of werkis; ellis grace is not now grace.
11:7What thanne? Israel hath not getun this that he souyte, but eleccioun hath getun; and the othere ben blyndid.
11:8As it is writun, God yaf to hem a spirit of compunccioun, iyen that thei se not, and eeris, that thei here not, in to this dai.
11:9And Dauith seith, Be the boord of hem maad in to a gryn bifor hem, and in to catchyng, and in to sclaundre, and in to yeldyng to hem.
11:10Be the iyen of hem maad derk, that thei se not; and bowe thou doun algatis the bak of hem.
11:11Therfor Y seie, Whether thei offendiden so, that thei schulden falle doun? God forbede. But bi the gilt of hem helthe is maad to hethene men, that thei sue hem.
11:12That if the gilt of hem ben richessis of the world, and the makyng lesse of hem ben richessis of hethene men, hou myche more the plente of hem?
11:13But Y seie to you, hethene men, for as longe as Y am apostle of hethene men, Y schal onoure my mynysterie,
11:14if in ony maner Y stire my fleisch for to folowe, and that Y make summe of hem saaf.
11:15For if the loss of hem is the recouncelyng of the world, what is the takyng vp, but lijf of deede men?
11:16For if a litil part of that that is tastid be hooli, the hool gobet is hooli; and if the roote is hooli, also the braunchis.
11:17What if ony of the braunchis ben brokun, whanne thou were a wielde olyue tre, art graffid among hem, and art maad felowe of the roote, and of the fatnesse of the olyue tre,
11:18nyle thou haue glorie ayens the braunchis. For if thou gloriest, thou berist not the roote, but the roote thee.
11:19Therfor thou seist, The braunchis ben brokun, that Y be graffid in.
11:20Wel, for vnbileue the braunchis ben brokun; but thou stondist bi feith. Nyle thou sauere hiye thing,
11:21but drede thou, for if God sparide not the kyndli braunchis, lest perauenture he spare not thee.
11:22Therfor se the goodnesse, and the fersnesse of God; yhe, the feersnesse in to hem that felden doun, but the goodnesse of God in to thee, if thou dwellist in goodnesse, ellis also thou schalt be kit doun.
11:23Yhe, and thei schulen be set yn, if thei dwellen not in vnbileue. For God is myyti, to sette hem in eftsoone.
11:24For if thou art kit doun of the kyndeli wielde olyue tre, and ayens kynd art set in to a good olyue tre, hou myche more thei that ben bi kynde, schulen be set in her olyue tree?
11:25But, britheren, Y wole not that ye vnknowen this mysterie, that ye be not wise to you silf; for blyndenesse hath feld a parti in Israel, til that the plente of hethene men entride,
11:26and so al Israel schulde be maad saaf. As it is writun, He schal come of Syon, that schal delyuere, and turne awei the wickidnesse of Jacob.
11:27And this testament to hem of me, whanne Y schal do awei her synnes.
11:28Aftir the gospel thei ben enemyes for you, but thei ben moost dereworthe bi the eleccioun for the fadris.
11:29And the yiftis and the cleping of God ben with outen forthenkyng.
11:30And as sum tyme also ye bileueden not to God, but now ye han gete mercy for the vnbileue of hem;
11:31so and these now bileueden not in to youre merci, that also thei geten merci.
11:32For God closide alle thingis togidere in vnbileue, that he haue mercy on alle.
11:33O! the heiynesse of the ritchessis of the wisdom and of the kunnyng of God; hou incomprehensible ben hise domes, and hise weies ben vnserchable.
11:34For whi who knew the wit of the Lord, or who was his counselour? or who formere yaf to hym,
11:35and it schal be quyt to hym?
11:36For of hym, and bi hym, and in hym ben alle thingis. To hym be glorie in to worldis. Amen.

11:2god hath not cast awaye his people which he knew before. Ether wote ye not what the scripture sayth by the mouth of Helias how he maketh intercession to god agaynst Israel sayinge:
11:3Lorde they have kylled thy prophetes and dygged doune thyn alters: and I am lefte only and they seke my lyfe.
11:4But what sayth the answer of god to him agayne? I have reserved vnto me seven thousande men which have not bowed the knee to Baal.
11:5Even so at this tyme ys ther a remnanaunt lefte thorow the eleccion of grace.
11:6Yf it be of grace the is it not of workes. For then were grace no moare grace. Yf it be of workes then is it no moare grace. For then were deservyng no lenger deservynge.
11:7What then? Israel hath not obtayned that that he sought. No but yet the election hath obtayned it. The remnaunt are blynded
11:8accordynge as it is written: God hath geven the the sprete of vnquyetnes: eyes that they shuld not se and eares that they shuld not heare even vnto this daye.
11:9And David sayth: Let their table be made a snare to take them with all and an occasion to faule and a rewarde vnto them.
11:10Let their eyes be blynded that they se not: and ever bowe doune their backes.
11:11I saye then: Have they therfore stombled that they shulde but faule only? God forbyd: but thorowe their faule is salvacio happened vnto the gentyls for to provoke the with all.
11:12Wherfore yf the faule of them be the ryches of the worlde: and the mynysshynge of them the ryches of the gentyls: How moche more shuld it be so yf they all beleved.
11:13I speake to you gentyls in as moche as I am the Apostle of ye gentyls I will magnify myn office
11:14that I myght provoke them which are my flesshe and myght save some of them.
11:15For yf the castynge awaye of them be the reconcylynge of the worlde: what shall the receavynge of them be but lyfe agayne from deeth?
11:16For yf one pece be holy the whole heepe is holy. And yf the rote be holy the braunches are holy also.
11:17Though some of the brauuches be broken of and thou beynge a wylde olyue tree arte graft in amonge them and made parttaker of ye rote and fatnes of the olyve tree
11:18bost not thy selfe agaynst the brauches. For yf thou bost thy selfe remember that thou bearest not the rote but the rote the.
11:19Thou wilt saye then: the brauches are broken of that I myght be grafte in.
11:20Thou sayest well: because of vnbeleve they are broken of and thou stondest stedfast in fayth.
11:21Be not hye mynded but feare seynge that God spared not the naturall braunches lest haply he also spare not the.
11:22Beholde ye kyndnes and rigorousnes of God: on the which fell rigorousnes: but towardes the kyndnes yf thou cotinue in his kyndnes. Or els thou shalt be hewen of
11:23and they yf they byde not still in vnbelefe shalbe graffed in agayne. For God is of power to graffe them in agayne.
11:24For yf thou wast cut out of a naturall wilde olyve tree and wast graffed contrary to nature in a true olyve tree: how moche more shall the naturall brauches be graffed in their awne olyve tree agayne.
11:25I wolde not that this secrete shuld be hyd fro you my brethren (lest ye shuld be wyse in youre awne consaytes) that partly blyndnes is happened in Israel vntyll ye fulnes of the gentyls be come in:
11:26and so all Israel shalbe saved. As it is writte: There shall come oute of Sion he yt doth delyver and shall turne awaye the vngodlynes of Iacob.
11:27And this is my covenaunt vnto them when I shall take awaye their synnes.
11:28As cocernynge the gospell they are enemies for youre sakes: but as touchinge the election they are loved for ye fathers sakes.
11:29For verely the gyftes and callynge of god are soche that it cannot repent him of them:
11:30for loke as ye in tyme passed have not beleved God yet have now obtayned mercy thorow their vnbelefe:
11:31even so now have they not beleved the mercy which is happened vnto you that they also maye obtayne mercy.
11:32God hath wrapped all nacions in vnbeleve that he myght have mercie on all.
11:33O the depnes of the aboundaunt wysdome and knowledge of God: how vnserchable are his iudgementes and his wayes past findyng out.
11:34For who hath knowen the mynde of the lorde? or who was his counseller?
11:35other who hath geven vnto him fyrst that he myght be recompensed agayne?
11:36For of him and thorow him and for him are all thinges To him be glorye for ever Amen.

11:2God hath not thrust out his people, whom he knewe before. Or wote ye not what the scripture sayeth of Elias, how he maketh intercession vnto God agaynst Israel, and sayeth:
11:3LORDE, they haue slayne thy prophetes, & dydged downe thine altares, and I am lefte ouer onely, and they seke my life?
11:4But what sayeth the answere of God vnto him? I haue reserued vnto me seuen thousande men, which haue not bowed their knee before Baal.
11:5Eue so goeth it now at this tyme also wt this remnaunt after ye eleccion of grace.
11:6Yf it be done of grace, the is it not of deseruynge: els were grace no grace. But yf it be of deseruynge, then is grace nothinge: els were deseruynge no deseruynge.
11:7What the? Israel hath not optayned yt which he soughte, but the eleccion hath optayned it. As for ye other, they are blynded.
11:8As it is wrytten: God hath geuen them the sprete of vnquyetnesse, eyes that they shulde not se, and eares that they shulde not heare, eue vnto this daye.
11:9And Dauid sayeth: Let their table be made a snare to take the withall, & an occasion to fall, & a rewarde vnto the.
11:10Let their eyes be blynded that they se not, and euer bowe downe their backes.
11:11I saye then: Haue they therfore stombled, yt they shulde cleane fall to naughte? God forbyd: but thorow their fall is saluacion happened vnto ye Heythen, that he mighte prouoke them to be zelous after them.
11:12For yf their fall be the riches of the worlde, and the mynishinge of the the riches of the Heythen: how moch more shulde it be so, yf their fulnesse were there?
11:13I speake vnto you Heythen: for in as moch as I am ye Apostle of the Heythen, I wil prayse myne office,
11:14yf I mighte prouoke them vnto zele, which are my fleshe, and saue some of them.
11:15For yf the losse of them by the recocylinge of the worlde, what were that els, then as yf life were taken of the deed?
11:16Yf the begynnynge be holy, then is all ye dowe holy: and yf the rote be holy, then are the braunches holy also.
11:17But though some of ye braunches now be broke, and thou, wha thou wast a wylde olyue tre,art grafte in amonge them, and made partaker of the rote and sappe of the olyue tre,
11:18boost not thy selfe agaynst the braunches. Yf thou boost thy selfe agaynst them, then bearest not thou the rote, but the rote beareth the.
11:19Thou wilt saye then: the braunches are broke of, that I mighte be grafted in.
11:20Thou sayest well. They are broken of because off their vnbeleue, but thou stondest thorow beleue
11:21Be not thou hye mynded, but feare, seynge God hath not spared the naturall braunches, lest he also spare not the.
11:22Beholde therfore the kyndnesse and rigorousnes off God: on them which fell, rigorousnes: but towarde the, kyndnes, yf thou contynue in the kyndnesse. Els shalt thou be hewe of:
11:23and they, yf they byde not styll in vnbeleue, shal be grafted in agayne. For God is of power to grafte the in agayne.
11:24For yf thou be cut out of the naturall wilde olyue tre, and grafted (contrary to nature) in the good olyue tre, how moch more shal they that are naturall, be grafted in their awne olyue tre agayne?
11:25I wolde not that this secrete shulde be hyd from you brethre (lest ye shulde be wyse in youre awne cosaytes) that partly blyndnesse is happened vnto Israel, so longe tyll the fulnesse of the Heythen be come in,
11:26and so all Israel shalbe saued. As it is wrytten: There shal come out of Sion he that doth delyuer, and shal turne awaye vngodlynes from Iacob.
11:27And this is my couenaut with them, wha I shal take awaye their synnes.
11:28As concernynge the Gospell, I holde them as enemies for youre sakes: but as touchinge the eleccion, I loue them for the fathers sakes.
11:29For verely the giftes & callynge of God are soch, that it can not repente him of them.
11:30For likewyse as ye also in tyme passed haue not beleued, but now haue optayned mercy thorow their vnbeleue:
11:31Euen so now haue they not beleued on the mercy which his happened vnto you, that they also maye optayne mercy.
11:32For God hath closed vp all vnder vnbeleue, that he mighte haue mercy on all.
11:33O the depenesse of the riches, both of the wyssdome and knowlege of God? How incomprehensible are his iudgmentes, and his wayes vnsearcheable?
11:34For who hath knowne the mynde of the LORDE? Or who hath bene his councell geuer?
11:35Or who hath geue him ought afore hande, that he mighte be recompenced agayne?
11:36For of him, and thorow him, and in him are all thinges. To him be prayse for euer, Amen.
