Ezekiel - Chapter: 36

>
36:1And thou, son of man, prophesy unto mountains of Israel, and thou hast said, O mountains of Israel, hear a word of Jehovah.
36:2Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy said against you, Aha, and the high places of old for a possession have been to us,
36:3therefore, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because, of desolating, And of swallowing you up from round about, For your being a possession to the remnant of the nations, And ye are taken up on the tip of the tongue, And `are' an evil report of the people.
36:4Therefore, O mountains of Israel, Hear a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah, to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, And to wastes that `are' desolate, And to cities that are forsaken, That have been for a prey, And for a scorn, to the remnant of the nations who `are' round about.
36:5Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom -- all of it, Who gave My land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart -- with despite of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?
36:6Therefore, prophesy concerning the ground of Israel, And thou hast said to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I, in My jealousy, and in My fury, I have spoken, Because the shame of nations ye have borne.
36:7Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I -- I have lifted up My hand, Do not -- the nations who `are' with you from round about -- they their own shame bear?
36:8And ye, O mountains of Israel, Your branch ye give out, and your fruits ye bear for My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come.
36:9For, lo, I `am' for you, and have turned to you, And ye have been tilled and sown.
36:10And I have multiplied on you men, All the house of Israel -- all of it, And the cities have been inhabited, And the wastes are built.
36:11And I have multiplied on you man and beast, And they have multiplied and been fruitful, And I have caused you to dwell according to your former states, And I have done better than at your beginnings, And ye have known that I `am' Jehovah.
36:12And I have caused man to walk over you, -- My people Israel, And they possess thee, and thou hast been to them for an inheritance, And thou dost add no more to bereave them.
36:13Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because they are saying to you: A devourer of men `art' thou, And a bereaver of thy nations thou hast been,
36:14Therefore, man thou devourest no more, And thy nations thou causest not to stumble any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.
36:15And I proclaim not unto thee any more the shame of the nations, And the reproach of peoples thou bearest no more, And thy nations stumble not any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
36:16And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
36:17`Son of man, The house of Israel are dwelling on their land, And they defile it by their way and by their doings, As the uncleanness of a separated one hath their way been before Me.
36:18And I do pour out My fury upon them For the blood that they shed on the land, And with their idols they have defiled it.
36:19And I scatter them among nations, And they are spread through lands, According to their way, and according to their doings, I have judged them.
36:20And one goeth in unto the nations whither they have gone, And they pollute My holy name by saying to them, The people of Jehovah `are' these, And from His land they have gone forth.
36:21And I have pity on My holy name, That the house of Israel have polluted among nations whither they have gone in.
36:22Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Not for your sake am I working, O house of Israel, But -- for My holy name, That ye have polluted among nations whither ye have gone in.
36:23And I have sanctified My great name, That is profaned among nations, That ye have polluted in your midst, And known have the nations that I `am' Jehovah, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes.
36:24And I have taken you out of the nations, And have gathered you out of all the lands, And I have brought you in unto your land,
36:25And I have sprinkled over you clean water, And ye have been clean; From all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I do cleanse you.
36:26And I have given to you a new heart, And a new spirit I give in your midst, And I have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, And I have given to you a heart of flesh.
36:27And My Spirit I give in your midst, And I have done this, so that in My statutes ye walk, And My judgments ye keep, and have done them.
36:28And ye have dwelt in the land that I have given to your fathers, And ye have been to Me for a people, And I -- I am to you for God.
36:29And I have saved you from all your uncleannesses, And I have called unto the corn, and multiplied it, And I have put no famine upon you.
36:30And I have multiplied the fruit of the tree, And the increase of the field, So that ye receive not any more a reproach of famine among nations.
36:31And ye have remembered your ways that `are' evil, And your doings that `are' not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations.
36:32Not for your sake am I working, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Be it known to you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel.
36:33Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the wastes have been built,
36:34And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes of every passer by,
36:35And they have said: This land, that was desolated, Hath been as the garden of Eden, And the cities -- the wasted, And the desolated, and the broken down, Fenced places have remained.
36:36And known have the nations who are left round about you, That I Jehovah have built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated: I Jehovah have spoken, and I have done `it'.
36:37Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Yet this I am required, By the house of Israel to do to them, I multiply them as a flock of men,
36:38As a flock of holy ones, as a flock of Jerusalem, In her appointed seasons, So are the waste cities full of flocks of men, And they have known that I `am' Jehovah!'

36:1Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
36:2Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
36:3Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:
36:4Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
36:5Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
36:6Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
36:7Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
36:8But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
36:9For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
36:10And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
36:11And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
36:12Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.
36:13Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;
36:14Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
36:15Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
36:16Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
36:17Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
36:18Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:
36:19And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
36:20And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
36:21But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
36:22Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
36:23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
36:24For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
36:25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
36:26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
36:27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
36:28And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
36:29I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
36:30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
36:31Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
36:32Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
36:33Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
36:34And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
36:35And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
36:36Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
36:37Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
36:38As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

36:1And you, son of man, prophesy to Israel's mountains and say, O heights of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.
36:2So says the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy has spoken against you, saying , Aha! Everlasting heights have become a possession to us.
36:3So prophesy and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because of the wasting and crushing of you from all around, that you might be a possession to the rest of the nations, and you were lifted on the tip of the tongue, and the whispering of the people.
36:4Therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: So says the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the wastes of desolation, and to the forsaken cities which became a prey and a mocking to the rest of the nations all around.
36:5So the Lord Jehovah says this: Surely I have spoken in the fire of My jealousy against the rest of the nations, and against Edom, all those of her who have given My land to themselves for a possession with all joy of heart, with scorning of soul, in order to make it open land for a prey.
36:6So prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations.
36:7So the Lord Jehovah says this: I have lifted up My hand, surely the nations that surround you, they shall bear their shame.
36:8But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall put out your branches and your fruit, you shall bear for My people Israel. For they are drawing near to come.
36:9For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown.
36:10And I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it. and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be built.
36:11And I will multiply men on you, and beast, and they will grow and be fruitful. And I will make you dwell as you formerly were , and I will do better than at your beginnings. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.
36:12Yea, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you will be an inheritance to them and will not any more increase their bereavement.
36:13So says the Lord Jehovah: Because they said to you, You are a devourer of men, and you have bereaved your nations.
36:14So you shall no longer devour men, and you shall not make your nations fall any more, declares the Lord Jehovah.
36:15And I will not let you bear the shame of the nations any longer, and you shall not bear the disgrace of the peoples any more, and you shall not cause your nations to fall any more, declares the Lord Jehovah.
36:16And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
36:17Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt on their land, they even defiled it by their ways and by their doings. As the defilement of woman's impurity, their way was before Me
36:18So I poured out My fury on them, because of the blood that they had poured out on the land, and for their idols by which they defiled it.
36:19And I scattered them among the nations, and they were sown among the lands; I judged them by their way and by their doings.
36:20And when they entered into the nations, there where they went, they even profaned My holy name, by saying to them, These are the people of Jehovah, and they are gone out of His land.
36:21But I had pity for My holy name which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, there where they went.
36:22Therefore, say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but only for My holy name which you profaned among the nations, there where you went.
36:23And I will sanctify My great name which was profaned among the nations, which you profaned among them. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, declares the Lord Jehovah, when I am sanctified in you in their eyes.
36:24For I will take you from the nations and gather you out of all the lands and bring you into your land.
36:25Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols.
36:26And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.
36:27And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them .
36:28And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be a people to Me, and I will be God to you.
36:29I will also save you from all your defilements, and I will call for grain and increase it, and I will not put a famine on you.
36:30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, in order that you will not any more receive the disgrace of famine among the nations.
36:31And you will remember your evil ways and your doings that were not good, and you will despise yourselves in your own eyes for your iniquities and for your abominations.
36:32Let it be known to you that I am not doing this for your sake, states the Lord Jehovah. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
36:33So says the Lord Jehovah: In the day I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the wastes shall be built.
36:34And the desolated land shall be cultivated, rather than being a ruin in the eyes of all passing by.
36:35And they shall say, This land that was desolated has become like the garden of Eden. And the wasted and desolated and razed cities are fortified and inhabited.
36:36And the nations left all around you shall know that I, Jehovah, built the razed places and planted that which was desolated. I, Jehovah have spoken it and will do it.
36:37So says the Lord Jehovah: Yet for this I will be sought by the house of Israel, to work for them. I will increase them with men like a flock.
36:38Like a holy flock, like the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so the wasted cities shall be filled with flocks of men. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.
