Romans - Chapter: 1

1:1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
1:2(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
1:3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
1:4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
1:5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
1:6Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
1:7To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
1:9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
1:10Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
1:11For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
1:12That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
1:13Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
1:14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
1:15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1:17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
1:18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
1:19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
1:20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
1:21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
1:22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
1:23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
1:24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
1:25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
1:26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
1:27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
1:28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
1:29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
1:30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
1:31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
1:32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1:1Paul a seruant of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle, put apart to preache the Gospel of God,
1:2(Which he had promised afore by his Prophetes in the holy Scriptures)
1:3Concerning his Sonne Iesus Christ our Lord (which was made of the seede of Dauid according to the flesh,
1:4And declared mightily to be the Sonne of God, touching the Spirit of sanctification by the resurrection from the dead)
1:5By whom we haue receiued grace and Apostleship (that obedience might be giuen vnto ye faith) for his Name among al ye Gentiles,
1:6Among whom ye be also the called of Iesus Christ:
1:7To all you that be at Rome beloued of God, called to be Saints: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:8First I thanke my God through Iesus Christ for you all, because your faith is published throughout the whole world.
1:9For God is my witnesse (whom I serue in my spirit in the Gospel of his Sonne) that without ceasing I make mention of you
1:10Alwayes in my prayers, beseeching that by some meanes, one time or other I might haue a prosperous iourney by the will of God, to come vnto you.
1:11For I long to see you, that I might bestowe among you some spirituall gift, that you might be strengthened:
1:12That is, that I might be comforted together with you, through our mutuall faith, both yours and mine.
1:13Now my brethren, I would that ye should not be ignorant, how that I haue oftentimes purposed to come vnto you (but haue bene let hitherto) that I might haue some fruite also among you, as I haue among the other Gentiles.
1:14I am detter both to the Grecians, and to the Barbarians, both to the wise men and vnto the vnwise.
1:15Therefore, as much as in me is, I am readie to preach ye Gospel to you also that are at Rome.
1:16For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God vnto saluation to euery one that beleeueth, to the Iewe first, and also to the Grecian.
1:17For by it the righteousnesse of God is reueiled from faith to faith: as it is written, The iust shall liue by faith.
1:18For the wrath of God is reueiled from heauen against all vngodlinesse, and vnrighteousnesse of men, which withhold the trueth in vnrighteousnesse.
1:19Forasmuch as that, which may be knowe of God, is manifest in them: for God hath shewed it vnto them.
1:20For the inuisible things of him, that is, his eternal power and Godhead, are seene by ye creation of the worlde, being considered in his workes, to the intent that they should be without excuse:
1:21Because that when they knewe God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their thoughtes, and their foolish heart was full of darkenesse.
1:22When they professed themselues to be wise, they became fooles.
1:23For they turned the glorie of the incorruptible God to the similitude of the image of a corruptible man, and of birdes, and foure footed beastes, and of creeping things.
1:24Wherefore also God gaue them vp to their hearts lusts, vnto vncleannesse, to defile their owne bodies betweene themselues:
1:25Which turned the trueth of God vnto a lie, and worshipped and serued the creature, forsaking the Creator, which is blessed for euer, Amen.
1:26For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature.
1:27And likewise also the men left the naturall vse of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthinesse, and receiued in themselues such recompence of their errour, as was meete.
1:28For as they regarded not to acknowledge God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a reprobate minde, to doe those things which are not conuenient,
1:29Being full of all vnrighteousnesse, fornication, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuie, of murder, of debate, of deceit, taking all things in the euill part, whisperers,
1:30Backbiters, haters of God, doers of wrong, proude, boasters, inuenters of euil things, disobedient to parents, without vnderstanding, couenant breakers, without naturall affection, such as can neuer be appeased, mercilesse.
1:31Which men, though they knew ye Lawe of God, how that they which comit such things are worthie of death, yet not onely do the same, but also fauour them that doe them.

1:1Paul the seruaut of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle put a parte to preache the Gospell of God
1:2which he promysed afore by his Prophetes in the holy scriptures
1:3that make mension of his sonne the which was begotte of the seed of David as pertayninge to the flesshe:
1:4and declared to be the sonne of God with power of the holy goost that sanctifieth sence ye tyme that Iesus Christ oure Lorde rose agayne from deeth
1:5by whom we have receaved grace and apostleshyppe to bringe all maner hethe people vnto obedience of the fayth that is in his name:
1:6of the which hethen are ye a part also which are Iesus christes by vocacio.
1:7To all you of Rome beloved of God and saynctes by callinge. Grace be with you and peace from God oure father and from the Lorde Iesus Christ.
1:8Fyrst verely I thanke my God thorow Iesus Christ for you all because youre fayth is publisshed through out all the worlde.
1:9For God is my witnes whom I serve with my sprete in the Gospell of his sonne that with out ceasinge I make mencion of you alwayes in my prayers
1:10besechinge that at one tyme or another a prosperous iorney (by ye will of god) myght fortune me to come vnto you.
1:11For I longe to see you that I myght bestowe amoge you some spirituall gyfte to strength you with all:
1:12that is that I myght have consolacion together with you through the commen fayth which bothe ye and I have.
1:13I wolde that ye shuld knowe brethre how that I have often tymes purposed to come vnto you (but have bene let hitherto) to have some frute amonge you as I have amonge other of ye Gentyls.
1:14For I am detter both to the Grekes and to them which are no Grekes vnto the learned and also vnto the vnlearned.
1:15Lykewyse as moche as in me is I am redy to preache the Gospell to you of Rome also.
1:16For I am not ashamed of the Gospell of Christ because it is ye power of God vnto salvacio to all yt beleve namely to the Iewe and also to ye getyle.
1:17For by it ye rightewesnes which cometh of god is opened fro fayth to fayth. As it is written: The iust shall live by fayth.
1:18For the wrath of God apereth from heven agaynst all vngodlynes and vnrightewesnes of me which withholde ye trueth in vnrightewesnes
1:19seynge what maye be knowen of God that same is manifest amoge them. For God dyd shewe it vnto them.
1:20So that his invisible thinges: that is to saye his eternall power and godhed are vnderstonde and sene by the workes from the creacion of the worlde. So that they are without excuse
1:21in as moche as when they knewe god they glorified him not as God nether were thakfull but wexed full of vanities in their imaginacions and their folisshe hertes were blynded.
1:23When they couted them selves wyse they became foles and turned the glory of the immortall god vnto the similitude of the ymage of mortall man and of byrdes and foure foted beastes and of serpentes.
1:24Wherfore god lykewyse gave the vp vnto their hertes lustes vnto vnclennes to defyle their awne boddyes bitwene them selves:
1:25which tourned his truthe vnto a lye and worshipped and served the creatures more then ye maker which is blessed for ever. Ame.
1:26For this cause god gave them vp vnto shamfull lustes. For even their wemen did chaunge the naturall vse vnto the vnnaturall.
1:27And lyke wyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woma and bret in their lustes one on another. And man with man wrought filthynes and receaved in them selves the rewarde of their erroure as it was accordinge.
1:28And as it semed not good vnto them to be aknowen of God even so God delivered them vp vnto a leawde mynd yt they shuld do tho thinges which were not comly
1:29beinge full of all vnrighteous doinge of fornicacio wickednes coveteousnes maliciousnes full of envie morther debate disseyte evill codicioned whisperers
1:30backbyters haters of God doers of wroge proude bosters bringers vp of evyll thinges disobedient to father and mother
1:31with out vnderstondinge covenaunte breakers vnlovinge trucebreakers and merciles.
1:32Which me though they knew the rightewesnes of God how that they which soche thinges commyt are worthy of deeth yet not only do the same but also have pleasure in them that do them.
