Philippians - Chapter: 1

1:1Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
1:2Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
1:4Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
1:5For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
1:6Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
1:7Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
1:8For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
1:9And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
1:10That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
1:11Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
1:12But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
1:13So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
1:14And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
1:15Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
1:16The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
1:17But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
1:18What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
1:19For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
1:20According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
1:21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
1:22But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
1:23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
1:24Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
1:25And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
1:26That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
1:27Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
1:28And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
1:29For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
1:30Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

1:1Paul and Timotheus the seruants of IESVS CHRIST, to all the Saintes in Christ Iesus which are at Philippi, with the Bishops, and Deacons:
1:2Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:3I thanke my God, hauing you in perfect memorie,
1:4(Alwayes in all my praiers for all you, praying with gladnesse)
1:5Because of the fellowship which ye haue in the Gospel, from the first day vnto nowe.
1:6And I am persuaded of this same thing, that he that hath begunne this good worke in you, wil perfourme it vntill the day of Iesus Christ,
1:7As it becommeth me so to iudge of you all, because I haue you in remembrance that both in my bands, and in my defence, and confirmation of the Gospell you all were partakers of my grace.
1:8For God is my recorde, howe I long after you all from the very heart roote in Iesus Christ.
1:9And this I pray, that your loue may abound, yet more and more in knowledge, and in all iudgement,
1:10That ye may alowe those things which are best, that ye may be pure, and without offence vntill the day of Christ,
1:11Filled with the fruites of righteousnesse, which are by Iesus Christ vnto the glorie and praise of God.
1:12I would ye vnderstood, brethren, that the things which haue come vnto me, are turned rather to the furthering of the Gospell,
1:13So that my bandes in Christ are famous throughout all the iudgement hall, and in all other places,
1:14In so much that many of the brethren in the Lord are boldened through my bandes, and dare more frankely speake the word.
1:15Some preache. Christ euen through enuie and strife, and some also of good will.
1:16The one part preacheth Christ of contention and not purely, supposing to adde more affliction to my bandes.
1:17But the others of loue, knowing that I am set for the defence of the Gospell.
1:18What then? yet Christ is preached all maner wayes, whether it be vnder a pretence, or syncerely: and I therein ioye: yea and will ioye.
1:19For I knowe that this shall turne to my saluation through your prayer, and by the helpe of the Spirit of Iesus Christ,
1:20As I feruently looke for, and hope, that in nothing I shalbe ashamed, but that with all confidence, as alwayes, so nowe Christ shalbe magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death.
1:21For Christ is to me both in life, and in death aduantage.
1:22And whether to liue in the flesh were profitable for me, and what to chuse I knowe not.
1:23For I am distressed betweene both, desiring to be loosed and to be with Christ, which is best of all.
1:24Neuerthelesse, to abide in the flesh, is more needefull for you.
1:25And this am I sure of, that I shall abide, and with you all continue, for your furtherance and ioy of your faith,
1:26That ye may more aboundantly reioyce in IESVS CHRIST for me, by my comming to you againe.
1:27Onely let your conuersation be, as it becommeth the Gospel of Christ, that whether I come and see you, or els be absent, I may heare of your matters that ye continue in one Spirit, and in one mind, fighting together through the faith of the Gospel.
1:28And in nothing feare your aduersaries, which is to them a token of perdition, and to you of saluation, and that of God.
1:29For vnto you it is giuen for Christ, that not onely ye should beleeue in him, but also suffer for his sake,
1:30Hauing the same fight, which ye sawe in me, and nowe heare to be in me.

1:1Paul and Timotheus the servauntes of Iesu Christ To all ye sainctes in Christ Iesu which are at Philippos with ye Bisshops and Deacons.
1:2Grace be with you and peace from God oure father and from the Lorde Iesus Christ.
1:3I thanke my God with all remembraunce of you
1:4all wayes in all my prayers for you and praye with gladnes
1:5because of the fellowshyp which ye have in the gospell from the fyrst daye vnto now:
1:6and am suerly certified of this that he which beganne a good worke in you shall go forthe with it vntyll the daye of Iesus Christ
1:7as it becometh me so to iudge of you all because I have you in my herte and have you also every one companios of grace with me even in my bondes as I defende and stablysshe the gospell.
1:8For God beareth me recorde how greatly I longe after you all from the very herte rote in Iesus Christ.
1:9And this I praye yt youre love maye increace more and more in knowledge and in all fealinge
1:10that ye myght accepte thinges most excellent that ye myght be pure and soche as shuld hurte no manes conscience vntyll the daye of Christ
1:11filled with the frutes of rightewesnes which frutes come by Iesus Christ vnto the glory and laude of God.
1:12I wolde ye vnderstode brethern that my busynes is happened vnto the greater furtherynge of the gospell.
1:13So that my bondes in Christ are manyfest thorow out all the iudgement hall and in all other places:
1:14In so moche that many of the brethre in ye lorde are boldned thorow my bodes and dare more largely speake the worde with out feare.
1:15Some ther are which preache Christ of envie and stryfe and some of good wyll.
1:16The one parte preacheth Christ of stryfe and not purely supposinge to adde more adversitie to my bondes.
1:17The other parte of love because they se that I am set to defend the gospell.
1:18What then? So that Christ be preached all maner wayes whether it be by occasion or of true meaninge I therin ioye: ye and will ioye.
1:19For I knowe that this shall chaunce to my salvacion thorow youre prayer and ministringe of the sprete of Iesu Christ
1:20as I hertely loke for and hope that in nothinge I shalbe ashamed: but that with all confidence as all wayes in tymes past even so now Christ shalbe magnified in my body whether it be thorowe lyfe or els deeth.
1:21For Christ is to me lyfe and deeth is to me a vauntage.
1:22Yf it chaunce me to live in the flesshe that is to me frutefull forto worke and what to chose I wote not.
1:23I am constrayned of two thinges: I desyre to be lowsed and to be with Christ which thinge is best of all.
1:24Neverthelesse to abyde in the flesshe is moare nedfull for you.
1:25And this am I sure of that I shall abyde and with you all continue for the furtheraunce and ioye of youre fayth
1:26that ye maye moare aboundantly reioyce in Iesus Christ thorowe me by my comminge to you agayne.
1:27Only let yovre conversacion be as it be cometh the gospell of Christ: that whether I come and se you or els be absent I maye yet heare of you that ye contynue in one sprete and in one soule labouringe as we do to mayntayne the fayth of the gospell
1:28and in nothynge fearinge youre adversaries: which is to them a token of perdicion and to you of salvacion and that of God.
1:29For vnto you it is geven that not only ye shulde beleve on Christ: but also suffre for his sake
1:30and have eve the same fight which ye sawe me have and now heare of me.
