1 Corinthians - Chapter: 4

4:1Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
4:2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
4:3But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4:4For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
4:5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
4:6And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
4:7For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
4:8Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
4:9For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
4:10We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
4:11Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
4:12And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
4:13Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
4:14I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
4:15For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
4:16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
4:17For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
4:18Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
4:19But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
4:20For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
4:21What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

4:1Let a man so thinke of vs, as of the ministers of Christ, and disposers of the secrets of God:
4:2And as for the rest, it is required of the disposers, that euery man be found faithfull.
4:3As touching me, I passe very litle to be iudged of you, or of mans iudgement: no, I iudge not mine owne selfe.
4:4For I know nothing by my selfe, yet am I not thereby iustified: but he that iudgeth me, is the Lord.
4:5Therefore iudge nothing before the time, vntill the Lord come, who will lighten things that are hid in darkenesse, and make the counsels of the hearts manifest: and then shall euery man haue praise of God.
4:6Nowe these things, brethren, I haue figuratiuely applied vnto mine owne selfe and Apollos, for your sakes, that ye might learne by vs, that no man presume aboue that which is written, that one swell not against another for any mans cause.
4:7For who separateth thee? and what hast thou, that thou hast not receiued? if thou hast receiued it, why reioycest thou, as though thou haddest not receiued it?
4:8Nowe ye are full: nowe ye are made rich: ye reigne as kings without vs, and would to God ye did reigne, that we also might reigne with you.
4:9For I thinke that God hath set forth vs the last Apostles, as men appointed to death: for we are made a gasing stocke vnto the worlde, and to the Angels, and to men.
4:10We are fooles for Christes sake, and ye are wise in Christ: we are weake, and ye are strong: ye are honourable, and we are despised.
4:11Vnto this houre we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and haue no certaine dwelling place,
4:12And labour, working with our owne handes: we are reuiled, and yet we blesse: we are persecuted, and suffer it.
4:13We are euill spoken of, and we pray: we are made as the filth of the world, the offskowring of all things, vnto this time.
4:14I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloued children I admonish you.
4:15For though ye haue tenne thousand instructours in Christ, yet haue ye not many fathers: for in Christ Iesus I haue begotten you through the Gospel.
4:16Wherefore, I pray you, be ye folowers of me.
4:17For this cause haue I sent vnto you Timotheus, which is my beloued sonne, and faithfull in the Lord, which shall put you in remembrance of my wayes in Christ as I teache euery where in euery Church.
4:18Some are puffed vp as though I woulde not come vnto you.
4:19But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will knowe, not the wordes of them which are puffed vp, but the power.
4:20For the kingdome of God is not in worde, but in power.
4:21What will ye? shall I come vnto you with a rod, or in loue, and in ye spirite of meekenes?

4:1Let men this wyse esteme vs eve as the ministers of Christ and disposers of ye secretes of God.
4:2Furthermore it is requyred of the disposers that they be founde faithfull.
4:3With me is it but a very smal thinge that I shuld be iudged of you ether of (mans daye) No I iudge not myn awne selfe.
4:4I know nought by my selfe: yet am I not therby iustified. It is the Lorde that iudgeth me.
4:5Therfore iudge no thinge before the tyme vntill the Lorde come which will lighten thinges that are hyd in darcknes and ope the counsels of the hertes. And then shall every man have prayse of God.
4:6These thinges brethre I have described in myn awne person and Apollos for youre sakes that ye myght learne by vs that no man coute of him selfe beyonde that which is above written: that one swell not agaynst another for eny mans cause.
4:7For who preferreth the? What hast thou that thou hast not receaved? Yf thou have receaved it why reioysest thou as though thou haddest not receaved it?
4:8Now ye are full: now ye are made rych: ye raygne as kinges with out vs: and I wold to god ye dyd raygne that we might raygne with you.
4:9Me thinketh that God hath set forth vs which are Apostles for the lowest of all as it were me appoynted to deeth. For we are a gasyngestocke vnto the worlde and to ye angels and to men.
4:10We are foles for Christes sake and ye are wyse thorow Christ. We are weake and ye are stroge. Ye are honorable and we are despised.
4:11Eve vnto this daye we honger and thyrst and are naked and are boffetted wt fistes and have no certayne dwellinge place
4:12and laboure workinge with oure awne hondes. We are revysed and yet we blesse. We are persecuted and suffer it.
4:13We are evyll spoken of and we praye. We are made as it were the filthynes of the worlde the ofscowringe of all thinges even vnto this tyme.
4:14I write not these thinges to shame you: but as my beloved sonnes I warne you.
4:15For though ye have ten thousande instructours in Christ: yet have ye not many fathers. In Christ Iesu I have begotten you thorowe ye gospell.
4:16Wherfore I desyre you to folowe me.
4:17For this cause have I sent vnto you Timotheus which is my deare sonne and faithfull in the Lorde which shall put you in remembrauce of my wayes which I have in Christ eve as I teache every where in all congregacios.
4:18Some swell as though I wolde come no more at you.
4:19But I will come to you shortely yf God will: and will knowe not ye wordes of the which swell but ye power:
4:20for ye kyngdome of God is not in wordes but in power.
4:21What will ye? Shall I come vnto you with a rodde or els in love and in the sprete of mekenes?
