Romans - Chapter: 1

>
1:1Paule the seruaunte of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle, put aparte to preache the Gospel of God,
1:2whiche he promised afore by hys Prophetes in the holye scriptures
1:3that make mention of hys sonne, the whyche was begotten of the sede of Dauid (as perteininge to the fleshe)
1:4and declared to be the sonne of God, wyth power of the holye ghoste that sanctifyeth, sence the tyme that Iesus Christ our Lorde rose againe from death,
1:5by whom we haue receyued grace and Apostleshyp, to brynge all maner heathen people vnto the obedience of the fayth that is in his name:
1:6of the whyche heathen are ye a parte also, whyche are Iesus Christes by vocation.
1:7To all you at Rome beloued of God, and sainctes by callynge Grace be wyth you and peace from God our father, and from our Lorde Iesus Christ.
1:8Fyrste verelye I thanke my God thorowe Iesus Christe for you all, because your fayth is publyshed throughout all the worlde.
1:9For God is my wytnes, whom I serue wyth my spyryte in the Gospel of hys sonne, that wythout ceasinge I make mencion of you alwayes in my prayers,
1:10besechinge that at one tyme or other, a prosperous iorneye (by the wyll of God) myghte fortune me, to come vnto you.
1:11For I longe to se you that I myght bestowe amonge you some spyrytuall gyfte, to strength you wyth all,
1:12that is that I might haue consolacion together wyth you through the common fayth, whiche both ye and I haue.
1:13I woulde that ye shoulde knowe bretherne, howe that I haue often tymes purposed to come vnto you (but haue bene let hitherto) to haue some fruite amonge you, as I haue amonge other of the Gentyls.
1:14For I am detter both to the Grekes and to them, whyche are no Grekes, vnto the learned and also vnto the vnlearned.
1:15Lykewyse as much as in me is. I am redy to preache the Gospel to you of Rome also.
1:16For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God vnto saluacion to all that beleue, namely to the Iewe and also to the gentyle.
1:17For by it the rightuousnes, which commeth of God is opened from fayth to fayth.
1:18As it is written: the iust shal liue by faith. For the wrath of God appeareth from heauen agaynste all vngodlynesse and vnryghtuousnes of men, whiche wythholde the trueth in vnryghtuousnes,
1:19saiyng: what maye be knowen of God, that same is manifest amonge them. For God dyd shewe it vnto them.
1:20So that his inuisible thinges, that is to saye, hys eternall power and Godhead, are vnderstand & sene by the workes from the creation of the worlde. So that they are wythout excuse,
1:21in as muche as when they knewe God, they glorifyed him not as God, neither were thankful, but waxed full of vanities in theyr Imaginations, and their folishe hertes were blinded.
1:22When they counted them selues wyse, they became foles,
1:23and tourned the glorye of the immortall God, vnto the the similitude of the Image of mortall man, and of byrdes, and foure foted beastes, and of serpentes.
1:24Wherfore God lykewyse gaue them vp vnto their hertes lustes vnto vncleanes, to defyle theyr owne bodies betwene them selues:
1:25whyche turned hys truth vnto a lye, and worshipped and serued the creatures more then the maker, whyche is blessed for euer. Amen.
1:26For this cause God gaue them vp vnto shamefull lustes. For euen theyr women dyd chandge the natural vse vnto the vnnaturall.
1:27And lykewyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woman, and brent in theyr lustes one on another. And man with man wroughte fylthynes, and receiued in them selues the reward of theyr errour, as it was accordinge.
1:28And as it semed not good vnto them to be a knowen of God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a leud minde, that they should do those thinges, whiche were not comly,
1:29beyng ful of al vnryghtuous doing, of fornicacion, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuye, murther, debate, disceite, euyl condicioned, whisperers,
1:30backbiters, haters of God, doers of wronge, proude, bosters, bryngers vp of euyll thinges, disobedient to father and mother,
1:31wythout vnderstandynge, couenaunt breakers, vnlouinge, truce breakers and mercyles.
1:32Whyche men though they knewe the ryghtuousnes of God, howe that they which such thinges commit, are worthy of death, yet not onely do the same, but also haue pleasure in them that do them.

1:1Paul the seruaunt of Iesus Chryst called to the office of an Apostle put a parte for the Gospell of God
1:2whych he had promysed afore by hys Prophetes in the holy scriptures
1:3of hys sonne, whych was borne of the seed of Dauid after the flesshe:
1:4and hath bene declared to be the sonne of God wt power, after the sprete that sanctifyeth, sence the tyme that Iesus Chryst oure Lorde rose agayne from deeth
1:5by whom we haue receaued grace & Apostleshyp, that obedience myght be geuen vnto the fayth in hys name amonge all heathen,
1:6of whose nombre you be, the electe of Iesu Chryst.
1:7To all you that be at Rome, beloued of God and sayntes by electyon. Grace be wt you and peace from God oure father, & from the Lorde Iesus Chryst.
1:8Fyrst verely I thanke my God thorow Iesus Chryst for you all, that youre fayth is spoken of in all the worlde.
1:9For God is my wytnes (whom I serue. Wyth my sprete in the Gospell of hys sonne) that wythout ceasynge I make mencyon of you prayinge allwayes in my prayers,
1:10that by some meane, at the last (one tyme or other) a prospesperous iorney (by the wyll of God) myght fortune me, to come vnto you.
1:11For I longe to se you, that I myght bestowe amonge you some spyrituall gyfte, to strength you withall:
1:12that is, that I myght haue consolacyon together wyth you, through the commen fayth whych both ye and I haue.
1:13I wolde that ye shuld knowe (brethren) how that I haue often tymes purposed to come vnto you but haue bene let hitherto, to haue some frute also amonge you, as among other of the Gentyls.
1:14I am detter both to the Grekes and to the vngrekes, to the learned and to the vnlearned.
1:15So that (as moch as in me is) I am redy to preach the Gospell to you that are at Rome also.
1:16For I am not asshamed of the Gospell of Chryst, because it is the power of God vnto saluacion to euery one that beleueth, to the Iewe fyrst, & also to the Gentyle.
1:17For by it is the ryghtewesnes of God opened from fayth to fayth.
1:18As it is written the iust shall lyue by fayth. For the wrath of God apeareth from heauen agaynst all vngodlynes and vnryghtewesnes of men, whych withholde the trueth in vnrightewesnes:
1:19seynge that it whych maye be knowen of God, is manyfest amonge them because God hath shewed it vnto them.
1:20For hys inuisyble thinges (that is to saye hys eternall power ad godhed) are sene, for as moch as they are vnderstande by the workes from the creacyon of the worlde: So that they are wythout excuse
1:21because that when they knewe God, they glorifyed hym not as God, nether were thankfull but wexed full of vanities in theyr imaginacions, and theyr folysh hert was blynded.
1:22When they counted them selues wyse, they became fooles
1:23and turned the glory of the immortall God, vnto an ymage, made not onely after the symilitude of a mortall man but also of byrdes, & fourefoted beastes & of creping beastes.
1:24Wherfore, God gaue them vp, to vnclennes, thorow the lustes of their awne heartes to defyle their awne bodyes amonge them selues:
1:25whych chaunged hys truthe for a lye. and worshypped and serued the thinges that be made, more than hym that made them, which is to be praysed for euer. Amen.
1:26Wherfore, God gaue them vp vnto shamefull lustes: For euen their wemen dyd chaunge the naturall vse in to that whych is agaynst nature.
1:27And lyke wyse also the men, lefte the natural vse of the woman, and brent in their lustes one wyth another, men wyth men wrought fylthynes, and receaued to them selues the rewarde of theyr erroure, as it was accordynge.
1:28And as they regarded not to knowe God euen so God delyuered them vp vnto a lewde mynde, that they shulde do those thynges whych were not comly,
1:29beyng full of all vnryghteousnesse, fornicacyon, wyckednes, coueteousnes, malicyousnes, full of enuye morther, debate, disceyte, euyll condicyoned, whysperers,
1:30backbyters, haters of God, dysdaynfull, proude, boasters, bringers vp of euyll thynges, disobedyent to father and mother,
1:31wythout vnderstandynge, couenaunte breakers, vnlouynge, trucebreakers, vnmercyfull.
1:32Which men, though they knew the ryghtewesnes of God, how that they which commyt soche thynges, are worthy of deeth, not only do the same but also haue pleasure in them that do them.

1:1Paul a seruant of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle, put apart to preache the Gospel of God,
1:2(Which he had promised afore by his Prophetes in the holy Scriptures)
1:3Concerning his Sonne Iesus Christ our Lord (which was made of the seede of Dauid according to the flesh,
1:4And declared mightily to be the Sonne of God, touching the Spirit of sanctification by the resurrection from the dead)
1:5By whom we haue receiued grace and Apostleship (that obedience might be giuen vnto ye faith) for his Name among al ye Gentiles,
1:6Among whom ye be also the called of Iesus Christ:
1:7To all you that be at Rome beloued of God, called to be Saints: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
1:8First I thanke my God through Iesus Christ for you all, because your faith is published throughout the whole world.
1:9For God is my witnesse (whom I serue in my spirit in the Gospel of his Sonne) that without ceasing I make mention of you
1:10Alwayes in my prayers, beseeching that by some meanes, one time or other I might haue a prosperous iourney by the will of God, to come vnto you.
1:11For I long to see you, that I might bestowe among you some spirituall gift, that you might be strengthened:
1:12That is, that I might be comforted together with you, through our mutuall faith, both yours and mine.
1:13Now my brethren, I would that ye should not be ignorant, how that I haue oftentimes purposed to come vnto you (but haue bene let hitherto) that I might haue some fruite also among you, as I haue among the other Gentiles.
1:14I am detter both to the Grecians, and to the Barbarians, both to the wise men and vnto the vnwise.
1:15Therefore, as much as in me is, I am readie to preach ye Gospel to you also that are at Rome.
1:16For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God vnto saluation to euery one that beleeueth, to the Iewe first, and also to the Grecian.
1:17For by it the righteousnesse of God is reueiled from faith to faith: as it is written, The iust shall liue by faith.
1:18For the wrath of God is reueiled from heauen against all vngodlinesse, and vnrighteousnesse of men, which withhold the trueth in vnrighteousnesse.
1:19Forasmuch as that, which may be knowe of God, is manifest in them: for God hath shewed it vnto them.
1:20For the inuisible things of him, that is, his eternal power and Godhead, are seene by ye creation of the worlde, being considered in his workes, to the intent that they should be without excuse:
1:21Because that when they knewe God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their thoughtes, and their foolish heart was full of darkenesse.
1:22When they professed themselues to be wise, they became fooles.
1:23For they turned the glorie of the incorruptible God to the similitude of the image of a corruptible man, and of birdes, and foure footed beastes, and of creeping things.
1:24Wherefore also God gaue them vp to their hearts lusts, vnto vncleannesse, to defile their owne bodies betweene themselues:
1:25Which turned the trueth of God vnto a lie, and worshipped and serued the creature, forsaking the Creator, which is blessed for euer, Amen.
1:26For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature.
1:27And likewise also the men left the naturall vse of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthinesse, and receiued in themselues such recompence of their errour, as was meete.
1:28For as they regarded not to acknowledge God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a reprobate minde, to doe those things which are not conuenient,
1:29Being full of all vnrighteousnesse, fornication, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuie, of murder, of debate, of deceit, taking all things in the euill part, whisperers,
1:30Backbiters, haters of God, doers of wrong, proude, boasters, inuenters of euil things, disobedient to parents, without vnderstanding, couenant breakers, without naturall affection, such as can neuer be appeased, mercilesse.
1:31Which men, though they knew ye Lawe of God, how that they which comit such things are worthie of death, yet not onely do the same, but also fauour them that doe them.
