Psalms - Chapter: 137
137:1 | By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. |
137:2 | We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. |
137:3 | For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. |
137:4 | How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land? |
137:5 | If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. |
137:6 | If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. |
137:7 | Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, Rase it, even to the foundation thereof. |
137:8 | O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. |
137:9 | Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. |
137:1 | By the riuers of Babel we sate, and there wee wept, when we remembred Zion. |
137:2 | Wee hanged our harpes vpon the willowes in the middes thereof. |
137:3 | Then they that ledde vs captiues, required of vs songs and mirth, when wee had hanged vp our harpes, saying, Sing vs one of the songs of Zion. |
137:4 | Howe shall we sing, said we, a song of the Lord in a strange land? |
137:5 | If I forget thee, O Ierusalem, let my right hand forget to play. |
137:6 | If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleaue to the roofe of my mouth: yea, if I preferre not Ierusalem to my chiefe ioy. |
137:7 | Remember the children of Edom, O Lord, in the day of Ierusalem, which saide, Rase it, rase it to the foundation thereof. |
137:8 | O daughter of Babel, worthy to be destroyed, blessed shall he be that rewardeth thee, as thou hast serued vs. |
137:9 | Blessed shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy children against the stones. |
