Psalms - Chapter: 129

>
129:1Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
129:2Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
129:3The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
129:4The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
129:5Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
129:6Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
129:7Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
129:8Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

129:1A song of degrees. They haue often times afflicted me from my youth (may Israel nowe say)
129:2They haue often times afflicted me from my youth: but they could not preuaile against me.
129:3The plowers plowed vpon my backe, and made long furrowes.
129:4But the righteous Lord hath cut the cordes of the wicked.
129:5They that hate Zion, shalbe all ashamed and turned backward.
129:6They shalbe as the grasse on the house tops, which withereth afore it commeth forth.
129:7Whereof the mower filleth not his hand, neither the glainer his lap:
129:8Neither they, which go by, say, The blessing of the Lord be vpon you, or, We blesse you in the Name of the Lord.
