Job - Chapter: 33

>
33:1Wherefore, Iob, I pray thee, heare my speeches, and hearken to all my wordes.
33:2Behold, now I haue opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
33:3My words shalbe of the vprightnesse of my heart: and my lippes shall vtter knowledge clearely.
33:4The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almightie hath giuen me life.
33:5If thou canst, answere me, set thy wordes in order before me, stand vp.
33:6Behold, I am according to thy wish in Gods stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
33:7Behold, my terrour shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heauie vpon thee.
33:8Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I haue heard the voice of thy words, saying,
33:9I am cleane without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquitie in me.
33:10Behold, hee findeth occasions against mee, hee counteth mee for his enemie.
33:11He putteth my feete in the stockes, he marketh all my pathes.
33:12Behold, in this thou art not iust: I will answere thee, That God is greater then man.
33:13Why doest thou striue against him? for he giueth not account of any of his matters.
33:14For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiueth it not.
33:15In a dreame, in a vision of the night, when deepe sleepe falleth vpon men, in slumbrings vpon the bed:
33:16Then hee openeth the eares of men, and sealeth their instruction,
33:17That hee may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
33:18Hee keepeth backe his soule from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
33:19Hee is chastened also with paine vpon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong paine.
33:20So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soule daintie meate.
33:21His flesh is consumed away that it cannot be seene; and his bones that were not seene, sticke out.
33:22His soule draweth neere vnto the graue, and his life to the destroyers.
33:23If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew vnto man his vprightnesse:
33:24Then hee is gracious vnto him, and sayth, Deliuer him from going downe to the pit; I haue found a ransome.
33:25His flesh shall be fresher then a childes: he shall returne to the dayes of his youth.
33:26He shall pray vnto God, and hee will be fauourable vnto him, and hee shall see his face with ioy: for hee will render vnto man his righteousnesse.
33:27He looketh vpon men, and if any say, I haue sinned, and peruerted that which was right, and it profited mee not:
33:28Hee will deliuer his soule from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
33:29Loe, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
33:30To bring backe his soule from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the liuing.
33:31Marke well, O Iob, hearken vnto me, hold thy peace, and I wil speake.
33:32If thou hast any thing to say, answere me: speake, for I desire to iustifie thee.
33:33If not, hearken vnto me: holde thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisedome.

33:1Wherefore heare my wordes O Iob, and hearken vnto all that I will say
33:2Behold, I haue now opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my throte
33:3My heart doth order my wordes aright, and my lippes talke of pure wysedome
33:4The spirite of God hath made me, and the breath of the almightie hath geuen me my lyfe
33:5If thou canst then geue me aunswere, prepare thy selfe and stande before me face to face
33:6Beholde, before God I am euen as thou: for I am fashioned & made euen of the same molde
33:7Beholde, my terrour shall not feare thee, neither shall my hande be heauy vpon thee
33:8Now hast thou spoken in myne eares, & I haue heard the voyce of thy wordes
33:9I am cleane without any fault, I am innocent, & there is no wickednesse in me
33:10But lo, he hath piked a quarell against me, and taketh me for his enemie
33:11He hath put my foote in the stockes, and looketh narowlye vnto all my pathes
33:12Behold, in this hast thou not done right, I wil make aunswere vnto thee, that God is greater then man
33:13And why doest thou then striue against him? for he shall not geue the accomptes of all his wordes
33:14For God speaketh once or twise, and yet man vnderstandeth it not
33:15In dreames and visions of the night, when slumbring commeth vpon men that they fall asleepe in their beddes
33:16He roundeth them in the eares, and sealeth their correction
33:17That he may withdrawe man from euyll enterprises, and deliuer hym from pride
33:18And kepe his soule from the graue, and his life from the sworde
33:19He chasteneth hym with sickenesse vpon his bedde, he layeth sore punishement vpon his bones
33:20So that his lyfe may away with no bread, and his soule abhorreth to eate any dayntie meate
33:21In so much that his body is cleane consumed away, and his bones appeare which before were not seene
33:22His soule draweth vnto the graue, and his lyfe to death
33:23Now yf there be a messenger, one among a thousande, sent for to speake vnto man, and to shew him the right way
33:24Then the Lord is mercifull vnto him, and sayth, He shalbe deliuered, that he fall not downe to the graue: for I am sufficiently reconciled
33:25Then shal his fleshe be as freshe as a childes, and shal returne as in the dayes of his youth
33:26He shall pray vnto God, and he will be fauorable vnto him, and he shall see his face with ioy, for he will render vnto man his righteousnesse
33:27A respect hath he vnto men, let man then say, I haue offended, I did vnrighteously, & it hath done me no good
33:28Yea he hath deliuered my soule from destruction, and my lyfe shall see the light
33:29Lo all these worketh God alway with man
33:30That he bring backe his soule from the graue to the light, yea the light of the lyuing
33:31Marke wel O Iob, and heare me: hold thee still, and I will speake
33:32But if thou hast any thing to say, then aunswere me, and speake: for I desire to iustifie thee
33:33If thou hast nothing, then heare me, and hold thy tongue, and I shall teache thee wysdome

33:1Wherefore, Iob, I pray thee, heare my talke and hearken vnto all my wordes.
33:2Beholde now, I haue opened my mouth: my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
33:3My words are in the vprightnesse of mine heart, and my lippes shall speake pure knowledge.
33:4The Spirite of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almightie hath giuen me life.
33:5If thou canst giue me answere, prepare thy selfe and stand before me.
33:6Beholde, I am according to thy wish in Gods stead: I am also formed of the clay.
33:7Beholde, my terrour shall not feare thee, neither shall mine hand be heauie vpon thee.
33:8Doubtles thou hast spoken in mine eares, and I haue heard the voyce of thy wordes.
33:9I am cleane, without sinne: I am innocent, and there is none iniquitie in me.
33:10Lo, he hath found occasions against me, and counted me for his enemie.
33:11He hath put my feete in the stockes, and looketh narrowly vnto all my paths.
33:12Behold, in this hast thou not done right: I will answere thee, that God is greater then man.
33:13Why doest thou striue against him? for he doeth not giue account of all his matters.
33:14For God speaketh once or twise, and one seeth it not.
33:15In dreames and visions of the night, when sleepe falleth vpon men, and they sleepe vpon their beds,
33:16Then he openeth the eares of men, euen by their corrections, which he had sealed,
33:17That he might cause man to turne away from his enterprise, and that he might hide the pride of man,
33:18And keepe backe his soule from the pit, and that his life should not passe by the sword.
33:19He is also striken with sorow vpon his bed, and the griefe of his bones is sore,
33:20So that his life causeth him to abhorre bread, and his soule daintie meate.
33:21His flesh faileth that it can not be seene, and his bones which were not seene, clatter.
33:22So his soule draweth to the graue, and his life to the buriers.
33:23If there be a messenger with him, or an interpreter, one of a thousand to declare vnto man his righteousnesse,
33:24Then will he haue mercie vpon him, and will say, Deliuer him, that he go not downe into the pit: for I haue receiued a reconciliation.
33:25Then shall his flesh be as fresh as a childes, and shall returne as in the dayes of his youth.
33:26He shall pray vnto God, and he will be fauourable vnto him, and he shall see his face with ioy: for he will render vnto man his righteousnes.
33:27He looketh vpon men, and if one say, I haue sinned, and peruerted righteousnesse, and it did not profite me,
33:28He will deliuer his soule from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
33:29Lo, all these things will God worke twise or thrise with a man,
33:30That he may turne backe his soule from the pit, to be illuminate in the light of the liuing.
33:31Marke well, O Iob, and heare me: keepe silence, and I will speake.
33:32If there be matter, answere me, and speak: for I desire to iustifie thee.
33:33If thou hast not, heare me: holde thy tongue, and I will teach thee wisedome.
