Textus Receptus Bibles

Jay P. Green's Literal Translation 1993

5:1O Jehovah, remember what has been to us; look upon and see our shame.
5:2Our inheritance has been turned to aliens, our houses to foreigners.
5:3We are orphans. There is no father; our mothers are like widows.
5:4We have drunk our water for silver; our wood comes for a price.
5:5We are pursued; we grow weary; rest is not given to us.
5:6We have given the hand to the Egyptians, to the Assyrian, in order to be satisfied with bread.
5:7Our fathers have sinned, and we are not; we have borne their iniquities.
5:8Slaves rule over us; there is no rescuer from their hand.
5:9We bring in our bread with our souls, from the face of the sword of the wilderness.
5:10Our skin is burned black like an oven, because of the fever heat of famine.
5:11They raped the women in Zion, virgins in the cities of Judah.
5:12Rulers were hanged by their hands; the faces of the elders were not honored.
5:13They lifted the young men to the hand mill, and the youths stumbled at the wood.
5:14The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
5:15The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance has turned to mourning.
5:16The crown has fallen from our head. Woe now to us, for we have sinned!
5:17For this our heart is faint; our eyes are dim for these things .
5:18Zion is laid waste on the mountain; foxes walk about on it.
5:19O Jehovah, You remain forever; Your throne to generation and generation.
5:20Why do You forget us forever, forsake us the length of days?
5:21Return us to You, O Jehovah, and we shall return. Renew our days as of old,
5:22unless You have utterly rejected us; You are exceedingly angry against us.

Green's Literal Translation 1993

Green's Literal Translation (Literal Translation of the Holy Bible - LITV), is a translation of the Bible by Jay P. Green, Sr., first published in 1985. The LITV takes a literal, formal equivalence approach to translation. The Masoretic Text is used as the Hebrew basis for the Old Testament, and the Textus Receptus is used as the Greek basis for the New Testament.
