Hebrews - Chapter: 9

>
9:1Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
9:2For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
9:3And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
9:4Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
9:5And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
9:6Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
9:7But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
9:8The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9:9Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
9:10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
9:11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
9:12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
9:13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
9:14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
9:15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
9:16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
9:17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
9:18Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
9:19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
9:20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
9:21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
9:22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
9:23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
9:24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
9:25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
9:26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
9:27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
9:28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

9:2For the first Tabernacle was made, wherein was the candlesticke, and the table, and the shewebread, which Tabernacle is called the Holy places.
9:3And after the seconde vaile was the Tabernacle, which is called the Holiest of all,
9:4Which had the golden censer, and the Arke of the Testament ouerlayde rounde about with golde, wherein the golden pot, which had Manna, was, and Aarons rod that had budded, and the tables of the Testament.
9:5And ouer the Arke were the glorious Cherubims, shadowing the mercie seat: of which things we will not nowe speake particularly.
9:6Nowe when these things were thus ordeined, the Priestes went alwayes into the first Tabernacle, and accomplished the seruice.
9:7But into the second went the hie Priest alone, once euery yere, not without blood which hee offered for himselfe, and for the ignorances of the people.
9:8Whereby the holy Ghost this signified, that the way into ye Holiest of all was not yet opened, while as yet the first tabernacle was standing,
9:9Which was a figure for that present time, wherein were offred gifts and sacrifices that could not make holy, concerning the conscience, him that did the seruice,
9:10Which only stood in meates and drinkes, and diuers washings, and carnal rites, which were inioyned, vntill the time of reformation.
9:11But Christ being come an high Priest of good things to come, by a greater and a more perfect Tabernacle, not made with handes, that is, not of this building,
9:12Neither by the blood of goates and calues: but by his owne blood entred he in once vnto the holy place, and obteined eternall redemption for vs.
9:13For if the blood of bulles and of goates, and the ashes of an heifer, sprinkling them that are vncleane, sanctifieth as touching the purifying of the flesh,
9:14How much more shall the blood of Christ which through the eternall Spirit offered himselfe without fault to God, purge your conscience from dead workes, to serue the liuing God?
9:15And for this cause is he the Mediatour of the newe Testament, that through death which was for the redemption of the transgressions that were in the former Testament, they which were called, might receiue the promise of eternall inheritance.
9:16For where a Testament is, there must be the death of him that made the Testament.
9:17For the Testament is confirmed when men are dead: for it is yet of no force as long as he that made it, is aliue.
9:18Wherefore neither was the first ordeined without blood.
9:19For when Moses had spoken euery precept to the people, according to the Law, he tooke the blood of calues and of goates, with water and purple wooll and hyssope, and sprinckled both the booke, and all the people,
9:20Saying, This is the blood of the Testament, which God hath appointed vnto you.
9:21Moreouer, he sprinkled likewise the Tabernacle with blood also, and all the ministring vessels.
9:22And almost all things are by the Law purged with blood, and without sheading of blood is no remission.
9:23It was then necessary, that the similitudes of heauenly things should be purified with such things: but the heauenly things them selues are purified with better sacrifices then are these.
9:24For Christ is not entred into ye holy places that are made with hands, which are similitudes of ye true Sanctuarie: but is entred into very heauen, to appeare now in ye sight of God for vs,
9:25Not that he should offer himselfe often, as the hie Priest entred into the Holy place euery yeere with other blood,
9:26(For then must he haue often suffred since the foundation of the world) but now in the end of the world hath he bene made manifest, once to put away sinne by the sacrifice of him selfe.
9:27And as it is appointed vnto men that they shall once die, and after that commeth the iudgement:
9:28So Christ was once offered to take away the sinnes of many, and vnto them that looke for him, shall he appeare the second time without sinne vnto saluation.

 

9:1That fyrst tabernacle verely had ordinaunces and servynges of god and wordly holynes.
9:2For there was a fore tabernacle made wherin was the candlesticke and the table and the shewe breed which is called wholy.
9:3But with in the secode vayle was ther a tabernacle which is called holiest of all
9:4which had the golden senser and the arcke of the testamet overlayde round about with golde wherin was the golden pot with manna and Aarons rodde that spronge and the tables of the testament.
9:5Over the arcke were the cherubis of glory shadowynge the seate of grace. Of which thynges we wyll not now speake perticularly.
9:6When these thynges were thus ordeyned the prestes went all wayes into the fyrst tabernacle and executed the service of god.
9:7But into the seconde went the hye prest alone once every yeare: and not with out bloud which he offered for him silfe and for the ignoraunce of ye people.
9:8Wherwith ye holy goost this signifyeng yt the waye of holy thynges was not yet opened whill as yet ye fyrst tabernacle was stondynge.
9:9Which was a similitude for the tyme then present and in which were offered gyftes and sacrifises that coulde not make them that minister parfecte as pertaynynge to the conscience
9:10with only meates and drinkes and divers wesshynges and iustifyinges of the flesshe which were ordeyned vntyll the tyme of reformacion.
9:11But Christ beynge an hye prest of good thynges to come came by a greater and a moare parfecte tabernacle not made with hondes: that is to saye not of this maner bildynge
9:12nether by the bloud of gotes and calves: but by his awne bloud we entred once for all into the holy place and founde eternall redemcion.
9:13For yf the bloud of oxen and of Gotes and the asshes of an heyfer whe it was sprynckled puryfied the vnclene as touchynge the purifiynge of the flesshe:
9:14How moche more shall the bloud of Christ (which thorow the eternall sprete offered him silfe with out spot to God) pourdge youre consciences from deed workes for to serve the livynge god?
9:15And for this cause is he the mediator of ye newe testament that thorow deeth which chaunsed for the redempcion of those transgressions that were in ye fyrst testamet) they which were called myght receave the promes of eternall inheritaunce.
9:16For whersoever is a testament there must also be the deeth of him that maketh the testament.
9:17For the testament taketh auctoritie when men are deed: For it is of no value as longe as he that made it is alive.
9:18For which cause also nether that fyrst testament was ordeyned with out bloud.
9:19For when all the commaundementes were redde of Moses vnto all the people he toke ye bloud of calves and of Gotes with water and purple woll and ysope and sprynkled both the boke and all the people
9:20sayinge: this is the bloud of the testament which god hath apoynted vnto you.
9:21Morover he sprenkled the tabernacle with bloud also and all the ministrynge vessels.
9:22And almost all thynges are bye the lawe pourged with bloud and with out effusion of bloud is no remission.
9:23It is then nede that the similitudes of hevenly thynges be purified with soche thynges: but the hevenly thynges them selves are purified with better sacrifises then are those.
9:24For Christ is not entred into the holy places that are made with hondes which are but similitudes of true thynges: but is entred into very heven for to appere now in the syght of God for vs:
9:25not to offer him silfe often as the hye prest entreth in to ye holy place every yeare with straunge bloud
9:26for then must he have often suffered sence the worlde bega. But now in the ende of the worlde hath he appered once to put synne to flyght by the offerynge vp of him silfe.
9:27And as it is apoynted vnto men that they shall once dye and then commeth the iudegement even
9:28so Christ was once offered to take awaye the synnes of many and vnto them that loke for him shall he appeare agayne without synne vnto saluacion.
