1 Timothy - Chapter: 1

>
1:1Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ by the commaundement of God our Sauiour, & Lord Iesus Christ which is our hope,
1:2Unto Timothie my own sonne in the Faith: Grace, mercie, and peace from God our Father, and Iesus Christ our Lord.
1:3As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
1:4Neither giue heed to fables, and endlesse genealogies, which minister questions, rather then edifying which is in faith: so doe.
1:5Now the end of the commandement is charity, out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.
1:6From which some hauing swarued, haue turned aside vnto vaine iangling,
1:7Desiring to bee teachers of the Law, vnderstading neither what they say, nor whereof they affirme.
1:8But we know that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully.
1:9Knowing this, that the Law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawlesse and disobedient, for the vngodly, and for sinners, for vnholy, and profane, for murderers of fathers, and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
1:10For whoremongers, for them that defile themselues with mankinde, for men-stealers, for liars, for periured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
1:11According to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
1:12And I thanke Christ Iesus our Lord, who hath enabled mee: for that he counted me faithfull, putting me into the Ministerie,
1:13Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and iniurious. But I obtained mercie, because I did it ignorantly, in vnbeliefe.
1:14And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant, with faith, & loue, which is in Christ Iesus.
1:15This is a faithfull saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Iesus came into the world to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.
1:16Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Iesus Christ might shew foorth all long suffering, for a paterne to them which should hereafter beleeue on him to life euerlasting.
1:17Now vnto ye king eternal, immortall, inuisible, the onely wise God, be honour and glory for euer & euer. Amen.
1:18This charge I commit vnto thee, sonne Timothie, according to the prophesies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest warre a good warfare,
1:19Holding faith, and a good conscience, which some hauing put away, concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.
1:20Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander, whome I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they may learne not to blaspheme.

1:1Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope,
1:2Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord.
1:3As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine,
1:4Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth.
1:5For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.
1:6From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling.
1:7They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme.
1:8And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully,
1:9Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers,
1:10To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine,
1:11Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me.
1:12Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice:
1:13When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.
1:14But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus.
1:15This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.
1:16Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life.
1:17Nowe vnto the King euerlasting, immortall, inuisible, vnto God onely wise, be honour and glorie, for euer, and euer, Amen.
1:18This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight,
1:19Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.
1:20Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme.

1:2Vnto Timothe hys naturall sonne in the fayth. Grace, mercye, and peace from God oure father and Lorde Iesus Christe oure Lorde.
1:3And I besought the to abyde styl in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, euen so do, that thou commaunde some, that they teache no nother wyse:
1:4neyther geue hede to fables and genealogyes whiche are endelesse, & brede doubtes more then Godlye edifiynge whiche is by fayth:
1:5for the ende of the commaundement is loue that commeth of a pure hert, & of a good conscience, and of fayth vnfayned:
1:6from the which thinges some haue erred & haue turned vnto vayne iangelyng,
1:7because they woulde be doctours in the scrypture, and yet vnderstand not what they speake, nether wherof they affyrme.
1:8We knowe that the lawe is good, yf a man vse it lawfullye,
1:9vnderstandynge thys, howe that the lawe is not geuen vnto a ryghtuous man but vnto the vnryghtuous and disobedient, to the vngodly and to synners, to vnholy and vncleane, to murtherers of fathers, and murtherers of mothers to manstears
1:10& whor mongers: to them that defyle them selues wyth mankynde: to menstealers, to lyars & to periured, and so forth yf there be any other thynge that is contrarye to holsome doctrine
1:11accordynge to the Gospell of the glorye of the blessed God, whiche Gospell is committed vnto me.
1:12And I thanke Christe Iesus oure Lorde which hath made me stronge: for he counted me true, and put me in offyce,
1:13when before I was a blasphemer and persecuter, and a tyraunte. But I obtayned mercye, because I dyd it ignorauntly thorowe vnbelefe.
1:14Neuerthelater the grace of oure Lorde was more aboundaunt wyth fayth and loue whiche is in Christ Iesu.
1:15Thys is a true saiynge and by all meanes worthy to be receyued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue synners, of whom I am chiefe.
1:16Not wythstandyng for this cause was mercye geuen vnto me that Iesus christ shoulde fyrste shewe on me all longe pacience vnto the ensample of them whiche shal in tyme to come beleue on hym vnto eternall lyfe.
1:17So then vnto God, kyng euerlastyng, immortall, inuysyble, and wyse onely, be honoure & prayse for euer and euer. Amen.
1:18Thys commaundement committe I vnto the sonne Timotheus, accordyng to the Prophesyes whiche in tyme paste were Prophesyed of the that thou in them shouldest fyght a good fyghte
1:19hauynge fayth and a good conscience whiche some haue put awaye from them and as concernyuge faythe, haue made shypwracke.
1:20Of whose numbre is Himeneus and Alexander whome I haue delyuered vnto Sathan that he myghte be taught not to blaspheme.
