1:1 | Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ by the commaundement of God our Sauiour, & Lord Iesus Christ which is our hope, |
1:2 | Unto Timothie my own sonne in the Faith: Grace, mercie, and peace from God our Father, and Iesus Christ our Lord. |
1:3 | As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, |
1:4 | Neither giue heed to fables, and endlesse genealogies, which minister questions, rather then edifying which is in faith: so doe. |
1:5 | Now the end of the commandement is charity, out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained. |
1:6 | From which some hauing swarued, haue turned aside vnto vaine iangling, |
1:7 | Desiring to bee teachers of the Law, vnderstading neither what they say, nor whereof they affirme. |
1:8 | But we know that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully. |
1:9 | Knowing this, that the Law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawlesse and disobedient, for the vngodly, and for sinners, for vnholy, and profane, for murderers of fathers, and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, |
1:10 | For whoremongers, for them that defile themselues with mankinde, for men-stealers, for liars, for periured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, |
1:11 | According to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. |
1:12 | And I thanke Christ Iesus our Lord, who hath enabled mee: for that he counted me faithfull, putting me into the Ministerie, |
1:13 | Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and iniurious. But I obtained mercie, because I did it ignorantly, in vnbeliefe. |
1:14 | And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant, with faith, & loue, which is in Christ Iesus. |
1:15 | This is a faithfull saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Iesus came into the world to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe. |
1:16 | Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Iesus Christ might shew foorth all long suffering, for a paterne to them which should hereafter beleeue on him to life euerlasting. |
1:17 | Now vnto ye king eternal, immortall, inuisible, the onely wise God, be honour and glory for euer & euer. Amen. |
1:18 | This charge I commit vnto thee, sonne Timothie, according to the prophesies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest warre a good warfare, |
1:19 | Holding faith, and a good conscience, which some hauing put away, concerning faith, haue made shipwracke. |
1:20 | Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander, whome I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they may learne not to blaspheme. |
1:1 | Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope, |
1:2 | Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord. |
1:3 | As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine, |
1:4 | Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth. |
1:5 | For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained. |
1:6 | From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling. |
1:7 | They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme. |
1:8 | And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully, |
1:9 | Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers, |
1:10 | To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine, |
1:11 | Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me. |
1:12 | Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice: |
1:13 | When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe. |
1:14 | But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus. |
1:15 | This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe. |
1:16 | Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life. |
1:17 | Nowe vnto the King euerlasting, immortall, inuisible, vnto God onely wise, be honour and glorie, for euer, and euer, Amen. |
1:18 | This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight, |
1:19 | Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke. |
1:20 | Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme. |

1:2 | Vnto Timothe hys naturall sonne in the fayth. Grace, mercye, and peace from God oure father and Lorde Iesus Christe oure Lorde. |
1:3 | And I besought the to abyde styl in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, euen so do, that thou commaunde some, that they teache no nother wyse: |
1:4 | neyther geue hede to fables and genealogyes whiche are endelesse, & brede doubtes more then Godlye edifiynge whiche is by fayth: |
1:5 | for the ende of the commaundement is loue that commeth of a pure hert, & of a good conscience, and of fayth vnfayned: |
1:6 | from the which thinges some haue erred & haue turned vnto vayne iangelyng, |
1:7 | because they woulde be doctours in the scrypture, and yet vnderstand not what they speake, nether wherof they affyrme. |
1:8 | We knowe that the lawe is good, yf a man vse it lawfullye, |
1:9 | vnderstandynge thys, howe that the lawe is not geuen vnto a ryghtuous man but vnto the vnryghtuous and disobedient, to the vngodly and to synners, to vnholy and vncleane, to murtherers of fathers, and murtherers of mothers to manstears |
1:10 | & whor mongers: to them that defyle them selues wyth mankynde: to menstealers, to lyars & to periured, and so forth yf there be any other thynge that is contrarye to holsome doctrine |
1:11 | accordynge to the Gospell of the glorye of the blessed God, whiche Gospell is committed vnto me. |
1:12 | And I thanke Christe Iesus oure Lorde which hath made me stronge: for he counted me true, and put me in offyce, |
