Luke - Chapter: 15

15:1Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
15:2And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
15:3And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
15:4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
15:5And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
15:6And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
15:7I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
15:8Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
15:9And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
15:10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
15:11And he said, A certain man had two sons:
15:12And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
15:13And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
15:14And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15:15And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
15:16And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
15:17And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
15:18I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
15:19And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
15:20And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
15:21And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
15:22But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
15:23And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
15:24For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
15:25Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
15:26And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
15:27And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
15:28And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
15:29And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
15:30But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
15:31And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
15:32It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

15:1Then resorted vnto him all the Publicanes and sinners, to heare him.
15:2Therefore the Pharises and Scribes murmured, saying, Hee receiueth sinners, and eateth with them.
15:3Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,
15:4What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?
15:5And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.
15:6And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.
15:7I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.
15:8Either what woman hauing ten groates, if she lose one groate, doth not light a candle, and sweepe the house, and seeke diligently till shee finde it?
15:9And when shee hath found it, shee calleth her friendes, and neighbours, saying, Reioyce with me: for I haue found the groate which I had lost.
15:10Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that conuerteth.
15:11He sayde moreouer, A certaine man had two sonnes.
15:12And the yonger of them sayde to his father, Father, giue mee the portion of the goods that falleth to mee. So he deuided vnto them his substance.
15:13So not many daies after, when the yonger sonne had gathered all together, hee tooke his iourney into a farre countrey, and there hee wasted his goods with riotous liuing.
15:14Nowe when hee had spent all, there arose a great dearth throughout that land, and he began to be in necessitie.
15:15Then hee went and claue to a citizen of that conntrey, and hee sent him to his farme, to feede swine.
15:16And hee would faine haue filled his bellie with the huskes, that the swine ate: but no man gaue them him.
15:17Then he came to him selfe, and said, Howe many hired seruaunts at my fathers haue bread ynough, and I die for hunger?
15:18I wil rise and goe to my father, and say vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heaue, and before thee,
15:19And am no more worthy to be called thy sonne: make me as one of thy hired seruants.
15:20So hee arose and came to his father, and when hee was yet a great way off, his father sawe him, and had compassion, and ranne and fell on his necke, and kissed him.
15:21And the sonne sayde vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heauen, and before thee, and am no more worthie to be called thy sonne.
15:22Then the father said to his seruaunts, Bring foorth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feete,
15:23And bring the fat calfe, and kill him, and let vs eate, and be merie:
15:24For this my sonne was dead, and is aliue againe: and he was lost, but he is found. And they began to be merie.
15:25Nowe the elder brother was in the fielde, and when he came and drewe neere to the house, he heard melodie, and dauncing,
15:26And called one of his seruaunts, and asked what those things meant.
15:27And hee sayde vnto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatte calfe, because he hath receiued him safe and sound.
15:28Then he was angry, and would not goe in: therefore came his father out and entreated him.
15:29But he answered and said to his father, Loe, these many yeeres haue I done thee seruice, neither brake I at any time thy commadement, and yet thou neuer gauest mee a kidde that I might make merie with my friends.
15:30But when this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy good with harlots, thou hast for his sake killed the fat calfe.
15:31And he said vnto him, Sonne, thou art euer with me, and al that I haue, is thine. It was meete that we shoulde make merie, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue againe: and hee was lost, but he is found.

15:1Then resorted vnto him all ye publicas and synners for to heare him.
15:2And the pharises and scribes murmured sayinge: He receaved to his copany synners and eateth with them.
15:3Then put he forthe this similitude to the sayinge:
15:4What man of you havynge an hundred shepe yf he loose one of thee doth not leve nynty and nyne in the wyldernes and goo after yt which is loost vntyll he fynde him?
15:5And whe he hath founde him he putteth him on his shulders with ioye:
15:6And assone as he cometh home he calleth to gedder his lovers and neghbours sayinge vnto them: reioyse with me for I have founde my shepe which was loost.
15:7I say vnto you yt lyke wyse ioye shalbe in heven over one synner yt repenteth moore then over nynety and nyne iuste persons whiche nede noo repentauce.
15:8Ether what woman havynge .x. grotes yf she loose one doth not lyght a candell and swepe ye housse and seke diligently tyll she fynde it?
15:9And when she hath founde it she calleth her lovers and her neghbours sayinge: Reioyce wt me for I have founde the groate which I had loost.
15:10Lykwyse I saye vnto you ioye is made in ye presence of ye angels of god over one synner yt repenteth.
15:11And he sayde: a certayne man had two sonnes
15:12and the yonger of them sayde to his father: father geve me my parte of the goodes yt to me belongeth. And he devided vnto them his substaunce.
15:13And not longe after ye yonger sonne gaddered all that he had to gedder and toke his iorney into a farre countre and theare he wasted his goodes with royetous lyvinge.
15:14And when he had spent all that he had ther rose a greate derth thorow out all yt same londe and he began to lacke.
15:15And he went and clave to a citesyn of yt same countre which sent him to his felde to kepe his swyne.
15:16And he wold fayne have filled his bely with the coddes that ye swyne ate: and noo man gave him.
15:17Then he came to him selfe and sayde: how many hyred servauntes at my fathers have breed ynough and I dye for honger.
15:18I will aryse and goo to my father and will saye vnto him: father I have synned agaynst heven and before ye
15:19and am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne make me as one of thy hyred servauntes.
15:20And he arose and went to his father. And when he was yet a greate waye of his father sawe him and had compassion and ran and fell on his necke and kyssed him.
15:21And the sonne sayd vnto him: father I have synned agaynst heven and in thy sight and am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne.
15:22But his father sayde to his servautes: bringe forth that best garment and put it on him and put a rynge on his honde and showes on his fete.
15:23And bringe hidder that fatted caulfe and kyll him and let vs eate and be mery:
15:24for this my sonne was deed and is alyve agayne he was loste and is now founde. And they began to be merye.
15:25The elder brother was in the felde and when he cam and drewe nye to ye housse he herde minstrelcy and daunsynge
15:26and called one of his servauntes and axed what thoose thinges meate.
15:27And he sayd vnto him: thy brother is come and thy father had kylled ye fatted caulfe because he hath receaved him safe and sounde.
15:28And he was angry and wolde not goo in. Then came his father out and entreated him.
15:29He answered and sayde to his father: Loo these many yeares have I done the service nether brake at eny tyme thy commaundment and yet gavest thou me never soo moche as a kyd to make mery wt my lovers:
15:30but assone as this thy sonne was come which hath devoured thy goodes with harlootes thou haste for his pleasure kylled ye fatted caulfe.
15:31And he sayd vnto him: Sonne thou wast ever with me and all that I have is thyne:
15:32it was mete that we shuld make mery and be glad: for this thy brother was deed and is a lyve agayne: and was loste and is founde.
