27:2 | `And thou, son of man, lift up concerning Tyre a lamentation, and thou hast said to Tyre: |
27:3 | O dweller on the entrances of the sea, Merchant of the peoples unto many isles, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, thou -- thou hast said: I `am' the perfection of beauty. |
27:4 | In the heart of the seas `are' thy borders, Thy builders have perfected thy beauty. |
27:5 | Of firs of Senir they have built to thee all thy double-boarded ships, Of cedars of Lebanon they have taken to make a mast for thee, |
27:6 | Of oaks of Bashan they made thine oars, Thy bench they have made of ivory, A branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim. |
27:7 | Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt hath been thy sail, To be to thee for an ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah hath been thy covering. |
27:8 | Inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad have been rowers to thee, Thy wise men, O Tyre, have been in thee, They `are' thy pilots. |
27:9 | Elders of Gebal and its wise men have been in thee, Strengthening thy breach; All ships of the sea and their mariners, Have been in thee, to trade `with' thy merchandise. |
27:10 | Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in thy forces -- thy men of war. Shield and helmet they hung up in thee, They -- they have given out thine honour. |
27:11 | The sons of Arvad, and thy force, `Are' on thy walls round about, And short swordsmen in thy towers have been, Their shields they have hung up on thy walls round about, They -- they have perfected thy beauty. |
27:12 | Tarshish `is' thy merchant, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For silver, iron, tin, and lead, They have given out thy remnants. |
27:13 | Javan, Tubal, and Meshech -- they `are' thy merchants, For persons of men, and vessels of brass, They have given out thy merchandise. |
27:14 | They of the house of Togarmah, `For' horses, and riding steeds, and mules, They have given out thy remnants. |
27:15 | Sons of Dedan `are' thy merchants, Many isles `are' the mart of thy hand, Horns of ivory and ebony they sent back thy reward. |
27:16 | Aram `is' thy merchant, Because of the abundance of thy works, For emerald, purple, and embroidery, And fine linen, and coral, and agate, They have given out thy remnants. |
27:17 | Judah and the land of Israel -- they `are' thy merchants, For wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, And honey, and oil, and balm, They have given out thy merchandise. |
27:18 | Damascus `is' thy merchant, For the abundance of thy works, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For wine of Helbon, and white wool. |
27:19 | Vedan and Javan go about with thy remnants, They have given shining iron, cassia, and cane, In thy merchandise it hath been. |
27:20 | Dedan `is' thy merchant, For clothes of freedom for riding. |
27:21 | Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They `are' the traders of thy hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these thy merchants. |
27:22 | Merchants of Sheba and Raamah -- they `are' thy merchants, For the chief of all spices, And for every precious stone, and gold, They have given out thy remnants. |
27:23 | Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, merchants of Sheba, Asshur -- Chilmad -- `are' thy merchants, |
27:24 | They `are' thy merchants for perfect things, For wrappings of blue, and embroidery, And for treasuries of rich apparel, With cords bound and girded, for thy merchandise, |
27:25 | Ships of Tarshish `are' thy double walls of thy merchandise, And thou art filled and honoured greatly, In the heart of the seas. |
27:26 | Into great waters have they brought thee, Those rowing thee, The east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas. |
27:27 | Thy wealth and thy remnants, Thy merchandise, thy mariners, And thy pilots, strengtheners of thy breach, And the traders of thy merchandise, And all thy men of war, who `are' in thee, And in all thine assembly that `is' in thy midst, Fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall, |
27:28 | At the voice of the cry of thy pilots shake do the suburbs. |
27:29 | And come down from their ships have all handling an oar, Mariners, all the pilots of the sea, on the land they stand, |
27:30 | And have sounded for thee with their voice, And cry bitterly, and cause dust to go up on their heads, In ashes they do roll themselves. |
27:31 | And they have made for thee baldness, And they have girded on sackcloth, And they have wept for thee, In bitterness of soul -- a bitter mourning. |
27:32 | And lifted up for thee have their sons a lamentation, And they have lamented over thee, who `is' as Tyre? As the cut-off one in the midst of the sea? |
27:33 | With the outgoing of thy remnants from the seas, Thou hast filled many peoples, With the abundance of thy riches, and thy merchandise, Thou hast made rich things of earth. |
27:34 | The time of `thy' being broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, Thy merchandise and all thy assembly in thy midst have fallen. |
27:35 | All inhabitants of the isles have been astonished at thee, And their kings have been sore afraid, They have been troubled in countenance. |
27:36 | Merchants among the peoples have shrieked for thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not -- to the age!' |
27:1 | The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, |
27:2 | Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus; |
27:3 | And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty. |
27:4 | Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty. |
27:5 | They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee. |
27:6 | Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim. |
27:7 | Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee. |
27:8 | The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots. |
27:9 | The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise. |
27:10 | They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness. |
27:11 | The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect. |
27:12 | Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs. |
27:13 | Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market. |
27:14 | They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. |
27:15 | The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony. |
27:16 | Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate. |
27:17 | Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm. |
27:18 | Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool. |
27:19 | Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market. |
27:20 | Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots. |
27:21 | Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants. |
27:22 | The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold. |
27:23 | Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants. |
27:24 | These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise. |
27:25 | The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas. |
27:26 | Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas. |
27:27 | Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin. |
27:28 | The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots. |
27:29 | And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land; |
27:30 | And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes: |
27:31 | And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing. |
27:32 | And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea? |
27:33 | When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise. |
27:34 | In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall. |
27:35 | All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance. |
27:36 | The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more. |
27:1 | And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying, |
27:2 | And you, son of man, take up a lament in Tyre. |
27:3 | And say to Tyre, Oh you who dwell at the entrances of the sea, a merchant of the peoples for many coast lands, so says the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, you have said, I am perfect of beauty. |
27:4 | In the heart of the seas are your borders, your builders have perfected your beauty. |
27:5 | They have made for you all your planks of fir trees of Senir. they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you. |
27:6 | They have made your oars of the oaks of Bashan. They made your deck with ivory from the coasts of Kittim, daughter of Assyria. |
27:7 | Your sail was of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, an ensign for you, violet and purple from the coasts, of Elishah was your covering. |
27:8 | The residents of Sidon and Arvad were rowers to you. Your wise men ones, O Tyre, they were your sailors. |
27:9 | The elders of Gebal and her wise ones were with you, reinforcing your seams. All the ships of the sea and their seamen were with you, to exchange your merchandise. |
27:10 | Persia and Lud and Lydia were in your army, men of war to you; they hung the shield and the helmet in you. They gave your splendor. |
27:11 | The sons of Arvad and your army were on your walls all around, and warriors were in your towers. They hung their weapons on your walls all around, they have perfected your beauty. |
27:12 | Tarshish was your trader from the multitude of your wealth. With silver, iron, tin, and lead, they gave for your wares. |
27:13 | Javan, Tubal and Meshech, they were your merchants, they gave the souls of men and vessels of bronze for your goods. |
27:14 | From the house of Togarmah they gave horses and war horses and mules for your wares. |
27:15 | The sons of Dedan were your merchants, many coast lands were the traffic of your hand. Tusks of ivory and ebony they brought as your gift. |
27:16 | Syria was your trader from the multitude of your works; with jewels, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies they gave for your wares. |
27:17 | Judah and the land of Israel were your merchants; with wheat from Minnith and Pannag, and honey and oil and balm they gave for your goods. |
27:18 | Damascus was your trader in the multitude of your works, from the multitude of all your wealth, in the wine of Helbon, and white wool. |
27:19 | And Dan and Javan going about gave for your wares; smooth iron, cassia, and cane were among your goods. |
27:20 | Dedan was your merchant in loose cloths for riding. |
27:21 | Arabia and all the rulers of Kedar, they were traders of your land in lambs and rams and goats, in them was your trade. |
27:22 | The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were your merchants; with the chief of all the spices, and with every precious stone and gold, they gave for your wares. |
27:23 | Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, Chilmad were your merchants. |
27:24 | They were your merchants in perfect things, in violet cloth and embroidered work, and in carpets of many colors, with tightly bound cords, and cedars among your merchandise. |
27:25 | The ships of Tarshish were the travelers of your goods. And you were filled and made very glorious in the heart of the seas. |
27:26 | Your rowers made you come into great waters, the east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas. |
27:27 | Your wealth and your wares and your goods, your seamen and your sailors reinforcing your seams, and the traders of your goods, and all your men of war who are in you, and all your assembly in your midst, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin. |
27:28 | At the sound of the cry of your sailors the pasture lands will shake. |
27:29 | And all who handle the oar shall come down from their ships, the seamen, all the sailors of the sea. They shall stand on the land, |
27:30 | and will make heard their voice against you, and will cry bitterly, and will cause to go up dust on their heads; they will wallow in the ashes. |
27:31 | And they shall be bald for you and gird with sackcloth; and they shall weep for you with bitterness of soul, a bitter wailing. |
27:32 | And in their wailing they shall lift up a lamentation and lament over you, saying , Who is like Tyre, as she who is quiet in the midst of the sea? |
27:33 | When your wares went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples. With the plenty of your riches and your goods, you enriched the kings of the earth. |
27:34 | At this time you are broken from the seas. By the depths of the waters your goods and all your assembly have fallen in your midst. |
27:35 | All the dwellers of the coastlands are appalled at you, and their kings are horribly terrified; their faces tremble. |
27:36 | The traders among the peoples hiss over you; you have become terrors. And until forever you shall not be . |
