Ezekiel - Chapter: 19

>
19:1Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
19:2And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
19:3And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
19:4The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
19:5Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
19:6And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
19:7And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
19:8Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
19:9And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
19:10Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
19:11And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
19:12But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
19:13And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
19:14And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

19:1Thou also, take vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
19:2And say, Wherefore lay thy mother as a lyonesse among the lyons? she nourished her yong ones among the lyons whelps,
19:3And she brought vp one of her whelps, and it became a lyon, and it learned to catch the praye, and it deuoured men.
19:4The nations also heard of him, and he was taken in their nets, and they brought him in chaines vnto the land of Egypt.
19:5Nowe when she sawe, that she had waited and her hope was lost, she tooke another of her whelps, and made him a lyon.
19:6Which went among the lyons, and became a lyon, and learned to catch the praye, and he deuoured men.
19:7And he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.
19:8Then the nations set against him on euery side of the countreys, and laide their nets for him: so he was taken in their pit.
19:9And they put him in prison and in chaines, and brought him to the King of Babel, and they put him in holdes, that his voyce should no more be heard vpon the mountaines of Israel.
19:10Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she brought foorth fruite and branches by the abundant waters,
19:11And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that beare rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
19:12But she was plucked vp in wrath: she was cast downe to the ground, and the East winde dried vp her fruite: her branches were broken, and withered: as for the rod of her strength, the fire consumed it.
19:13And now she is planted in the wildernes in a drie and thirstie ground.
19:14And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath deuoured her fruite, so that she hath no strong rod to be a scepter to rule: this is a lamentation and shalbe for a lamentation.

19:1But thou sonne of man mourne thou for the princes of Israel,
19:2& saye. Wherfore laye thy mother the lyonesse amonge the lyons, & noryshed her yonge ones amonge the lyons whelpes?
19:3One of her whelpes she brought vp, and it became a lyon, it learned to spoyle, and to deuoure folke.
19:4The Heathen herde of him, and toke him in their nettes, and brought him in chaynes vnto the lande of Egypte.
19:5Nowe when the damme sawe, that all her hope and comforte was awaye, she toke another of her whelpes, and made a lyon of him:
19:6which wente amonge the lyons, & became a fearce lyon: learned to spoyle and to deuoure folcke:
19:7he destroyed their palaces, and made their cyties waste. In so moch that the whole lande & euery thinge therin, were vtterly desolate, thorow the very voyce of his roaringe.
19:8Then came the Heathen together on euery syde oute of all countrees agaynst hym, layed their nettes for hym, and toke hym in their pytte.
19:9So they bounde him with chaynes, and brought him to the kyng of Babylon: which put him in preson, that his voyce shulde nomore be herde vpon the mountaynes of Israel.
19:10As for thy mother, she is lyke a vyne in thy bloude, planted by the water syde: her frutes and braunches are growen out of many waters,
19:11her stalkes were so stronge, that men myght haue made staues therof for officers: she grewe so hye in her stalkes. So whan men sawe that she exceaded she heygth & multitude of her braunches,
19:12she was roted out in displeasure, and cast downe to the grounde The East winde dryed vp her frute, her stronge stalkes were broken of, withered and brent in the fyre.
19:13But now she is planted in the wyldernesse, in a drye & thurstye grounde.
19:14And there is a fyre gone out of her stalckes, which hath brent vp her braunches and her frute: so that she hath no mo stronge stalckes, to be staues for offycers. This is a pyteous and miserable thinge.
