Proverbs - Chapter: 21

>
21:1The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
21:2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
21:3To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
21:4An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
21:5The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
21:6The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
21:7The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
21:8The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
21:9It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
21:10The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
21:11When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
21:12The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
21:13Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
21:14A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
21:15It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
21:16The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
21:17He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
21:18The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
21:19It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
21:20There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
21:21He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
21:22A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
21:23Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
21:24Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
21:25The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
21:26He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
21:27The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
21:28A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
21:29A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
21:30There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
21:31The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

21:1The Kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the riuers of waters: he turneth it whithersoeuer it pleaseth him.
21:2Euery way of a man is right in his owne eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
21:3To doe iustice and iudgement is more acceptable to the Lord then sacrifice.
21:4A hautie looke, and a proude heart, which is the light of the wicked, is sinne.
21:5The thoughtes of the diligent doe surely bring abundance: but whosoeuer is hastie, commeth surely to pouertie.
21:6The gathering of treasures by a deceitfull tongue is vanitie tossed to and from of them that seeke death.
21:7The robberie of the wicked shall destroy them: for they haue refused to execute iudgement.
21:8The way of some is peruerted and strange: but of the pure man, his worke is right.
21:9It is better to dwell in a corner of the house top, then with a contentious woman in a wide house.
21:10The soule of the wicked wisheth euill: and his neighbour hath no fauour in his eyes.
21:11When the scorner is punished, the foolish is wise: and when one instructeth the wise, he wil receiue knowledge.
21:12The righteous teacheth the house of the wicked: but God ouerthroweth the wicked for their euill.
21:13He that stoppeth his eare at the crying of the poore, he shall also cry and not be heard.
21:14A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a gift in the bosome great wrath.
21:15It is ioye to the iust to doe iudgement: but destruction shalbe to the workers of iniquitie.
21:16A man that wandreth out of the way of wisdome, shall remaine in the congregation of the dead.
21:17Hee that loueth pastime, shalbe a poore man: and he that loueth wine and oyle, shall not be riche.
21:18The wicked shalbe a ransome for the iust, and the transgressour for the righteous.
21:19It is better to dwell in the wildernesse, then with a contentious and angry woman.
21:20In the house of the wise is a pleasant treasure and oyle: but a foolish man deuoureth it.
21:21He that followeth after righteousnes and mercy, shall finde life, righteousnes, and glory.
21:22A wise man goeth vp into the citie of the mightie, and casteth downe the strength of the confidence thereof.
21:23He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth his soule from afflictions.
21:24Proude, hautie and scornefull is his name that worketh in his arrogancie wrath.
21:25The desire of the slouthfull slayeth him: for his hands refuse to worke.
21:26He coueteth euermore greedily, but the righteous giueth and spareth not.
21:27The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more when he bringeth it with a wicked minde?
21:28A false witnes shall perish: but hee that heareth, speaketh continually.
21:29A wicked man hardeneth his face: but the iust, he will direct his way.
21:30There is no wisedome, neither vnderstanding, nor counsell against the Lord.
21:31The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but saluation is of the Lord.
