King James Bible 2016

New Testament

1:1Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God even our Savior Jesus Christ:
1:2Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
1:3in the same way as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue,
1:4by which are given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
1:5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge,
1:6and to knowledge self control, and to self control perseverance, and to perseverance godliness,
1:7And to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
1:8Because, if these things are in you and abound, they make you that you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9But he who lacks these things is short sighted and blind, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
1:10Therefore instead brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election certain, because if you do these things you will never fall;
1:11because, then an entrance will be provided for you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
1:12Therefore I will not be negligent to constantly remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.
1:13Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,
1:14knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me.
1:15Moreover I will endeavor that after my decease you may be able to have these things in remembrance.
1:16Because, we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
1:17Because, He received from God the Father honor and glory when a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
1:18And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
1:19We also have an additional confirmed word of prophecy, which you do well to observe as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the day star rises in your hearts;
1:20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation.
1:21because, the prophecy in old times did not come by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

King James Bible 2016

Unlike most other modern versions, this Bible's text is based upon the same Hebrew Masoretic Text, and Greek Textus Receptus, of the King James Version of 1611.

In non Textus Receptus versions, the issue of having the best underlying manuscripts, is often overshadowed by the massive amount of omissions in the text. Because the KJV 2016 is not dealing with issues of omission and addition, the focus has been upon definition, and the KJV translators choices have been used as the benchmark.

One issue not often majored upon in the bible version debate is simply the way Greek words are defined. Many times, the NKJV leans upon the definition choices of modern versions as well as defaulting to Vines and Strong's definitions, which are almost always favorable to the Revised Version. In other words, one may have a correct text to translate from, but use erroneous modern version/modern dictionary definitions which change or distort the meaning of the words. Jay Green was accused of having a good TR bible but with "Alexandrian readings".

The KJV 2016 Edition rejects such erroneous modern definitions and restores the distinctness of historical KJV readings. The NKJV also tended to gravitate toward KJV marginal notes, which are in truth, rejected readings, and also toward Geneva Bible definitions, which the KJV had already cleared up.
