Revised Young's Literal Translation

New Testament

14:1'Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, also in me believe;
14:2in the house of my Father are many mansions; and if not, I would have told you; I go on to prepare a place for you;
14:3and if I go on and prepare for you a place, again do I come, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am you also may be;
14:4and whither I go away you have known, and the way you have known.'
14:5Thomas said to him, 'Sir, we have not known whither you goes away, and how are we able to know the way?'
14:6Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one does come unto the Father, if not through me;
14:7if you had known me, my Father also you would have known, and from this time you have known Him, and have seen Him.'
14:8Philip said to him, 'Sir, show to us the Father, and it is enough for us;'
14:9Jesus said to him, 'So long time am I with you, and you have not known me, Philip? he who has seen me has seen the Father; and how do you say, Show to us the Father?
14:10Believe you not that Iam in the Father, and the Father is in me? the sayings that I speak to you, from myself I speak not, and the Father who is abiding in me, Himself does the works;
14:11believe me, that Iam in the Father, and the Father in me; and if not, because of the works themselves, believe me.
14:12'Verily, verily, I say to you, he who is believing in me, the works that I do -- that one also shall do, and greater than these he shall do, because I go on to my Father;
14:13and whatever you may ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son;
14:14if you ask anything in my name I will doit.
14:15'If you love me, my commands keep,
14:16and I will ask the Father, and another Comforter He will give to you, that he may remain with you -- to the age;
14:17the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not behold him, nor know him, and you know him, because he does remain with you, and shall be in you.
14:18'I will not leave you bereaved, I come unto you;
14:19yet a little, and the world does no more behold me, and you behold me, because I live, and you shall live;
14:20in that day you shall know that Iam in my Father, and you in me, and I in you;
14:21he who is having my commands, and is keeping them, that one it is who is loving me, and he who is loving me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.'
14:22Judas said to him, (not the Iscariot), 'Sir, what has come to pass, that to us you are about to manifest yourself, and not to the world?'
14:23Jesus answered and said to him, 'If any one may love me, my word he will keep, and my Father will love him, and unto him we will come, and abode with him we will make;
14:24he who is not loving me, my words does not keep; and the word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
14:25'These things I have spoken to you, remaining with you,
14:26and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and remind you of all things that I said to you.
14:27'Peace I leave to you; my peace I give to you, not according as the world does give do I give to you; let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid;
14:28you heard that I said to you -- I go away, and I come unto you; if you did love me, you would have rejoiced that I said -- I go on to the Father, because my Father is greater than I.
14:29'And now I have saidit to you before it come to pass, that when it may come to pass, you may believe;
14:30I will no more talk much with you, for the ruler of this world does come, and in me he has nothing;
14:31but that the world may know that I love the Father, and according as the Father gave me command so I do; arise, we may go hence.
