King James Bible 2016

New Testament

2:1To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands:"
2:2"I know your works, your labor, your endurance, and how you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;"
2:3and you have persevered and have endurance, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary."
2:4But I have this against you, that you have left your first love."
2:5Remember therefore from where you have fallen; and repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you suddenly and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent."
2:6But you have this, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate."
2:7"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."'
2:8"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and is alive:"
2:9"I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."
2:10Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will all have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
2:11"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death."'
2:12"And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, 'These things says He who has the sharp two edged sword:"
2:13"I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in those days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells."
2:14But I have a few things against you, because you have some there who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality."
2:15And also you have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate."
2:16Repent, or else I will come to you suddenly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth."
2:17"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the hidden manna. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."'
2:18"And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass:"
2:19"I know your works, love, service, faith, and your endurance; and your works, and the last to be more than the first."
2:20But I have a few things against you, because you permit that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols."
2:21And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent."
2:22Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds."
2:23I will kill her children with death, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works."
2:24"Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, and who have not known, as they say, the depths of Satan, I will put on you no other burden."
2:25But what you already have, hold firmly until I come."
2:26And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations:"
2:27'He will rule them with a rod of iron; they will be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels' just as I have received from My Father;"
2:28and I will give him the morning star."
2:29"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'
King James Bible 2016

King James Bible 2016

Unlike most other modern versions, this Bible's text is based upon the same Hebrew Masoretic Text, and Greek Textus Receptus, of the King James Version of 1611.

In non Textus Receptus versions, the issue of having the best underlying manuscripts, is often overshadowed by the massive amount of omissions in the text. Because the KJV 2016 is not dealing with issues of omission and addition, the focus has been upon definition, and the KJV translators choices have been used as the benchmark.

One issue not often majored upon in the bible version debate is simply the way Greek words are defined. Many times, the NKJV leans upon the definition choices of modern versions as well as defaulting to Vines and Strong's definitions, which are almost always favorable to the Revised Version. In other words, one may have a correct text to translate from, but use erroneous modern version/modern dictionary definitions which change or distort the meaning of the words. Jay Green was accused of having a good TR bible but with "Alexandrian readings".

The KJV 2016 Edition rejects such erroneous modern definitions and restores the distinctness of historical KJV readings. The NKJV also tended to gravitate toward KJV marginal notes, which are in truth, rejected readings, and also toward Geneva Bible definitions, which the KJV had already cleared up.
